Electrical Adjustments and Checks

In order to avoid erroneous results this test can only be per-
termed by using standard test tape. the test irequencies must be
recorded with 20 db under lull level. The maximum permlssible
deviation is -- Sdb lo the tlmiting frequencies in accordance
with the lrequency response patterns.

Desired value 140 mViS'lo, measured with VTVM at the resietor
t kohms oi the voltage divider 1 megohmsn kohms, mounted
parallel to the combined head. (See T3 1)

Measurement is made without any low trequency Input; turn re<
cording level control counterclockwise

Input resistance oi VTVM min. 50 kohms.

Input capacity at VTVM max. 500 pF.

ll necessary adjust C 50.

Apply a voltage oi approximately 10 mv (1000 cycles) at terminals
1 and 2 or the "RADIOSPHONO" input jack and connect VTVM
(shunted by 10000 ohms) at 2 and 3 at the "EXTERNAL SPEAKER/
EARPHONE output jack. Turn recording level control until VtVM
indicates 1 volt. Then the indicator tube EM 84 must show lull
level (i. e. the space between the fluorescent screen tracings
is 1 mm. If necessary adjust R 16 lor proper indication).

As all bearings are titted with sintered metal sleeves lubricating
ol these parts is unnecessary for years. Only the locking device
ol the push button system is to be greased with vasetine irorn
time to time. Neither the contacts of the push button system nor
those at the switch on the amplifier plate Should come In contact
with any grease or contact cleaning agents.

tape guides and sound heads should be cleaned with methanol in
order to remove any deposits ot tape coating.
