The TD 180s tonearm TP 20 also features a lateral balance which has been factory adjusted with the

Stanton 500. Therefore, adjustments are only necessary if the TD 180 has been purchased without car-
tridge or if the built-in cartridge is going to be replaced.

To adjust lateral balance proceed as follows:

0 Balance tonearm as described above and move it half-way over the platter.
0 Disengage anti-skating weight with a piece of adhesive tape.

9 Lift-up the front of your TD 180, approximately 3-4 inches.

0 if the tonearm now starts moving towards the center of the platter. turn the adjuster-screw behind the
tonearms bearingblock to the left.

If the tonearm moves towards its rest. turn the adjuster to the right.

To obtain best results re-check the tonearm's vertical balance after each adjustment of the lateral

balance. This procedure should be repeated until lateral balance IS maintained. i.e. no movement of
the tonearm to either side.
