aPower (mains) switch
OPress (1,1) to turn power (mains) on and press again
{A._l.) to turn power (mains) off.
When power (mains) is turned on, the display panel lights as

shown below:

If there is a disc in the holder, it will begin spinning, the total
number of tracks and total playing time of the disc will be
displayed and the unit will switch to the standby modem!
Shown below is the display reading when a disc having
seven tracks and a total playing time of 49 minutes 58
seconds is in the holder.

Note-1:

In the standby mode. the pickup is at the beginning of

the first track and the display shows the total number

of tracks and total playing time of the disc.

The pickup is the device that reads the information
on the disc surface using a laser. The pickup moves
across the disc as the disc is played, but it is not
visible from outside of the cabinet.

eDisc holder
IThe disc is inserted in this holder with the label side up.

oOpen/close button
OPress this button to insert or remove a disc. When this
button is pressed, the disc holder opens.
iPress this button again to close the holder,

0 Numeric buttons NM
Press these buttons tc'specify track and index numbers.

Note-2:

Iln some Compact Discs, indexes are used to divide
tracks into smaller sections for easy access. If a disc
includes indexes, a list of the indexes will be
contained in the liner note included with that disc.

6 Memory button
Press this button to enter the track numbers specified by the
numeric buttons for program disc play.
Up to 15 steps can be programmed in any order.

6 Index button
Press this button before using the numeric buttons to specify
an index number.

0 Repeat button

O Press this button to activate the repeat play mode. (Repeat
play function)

hit the repeat mode is activated during program disc play. the
program will be played repeatedly,

IPress this button again to cancel the repeat mode.
(Repeat play can also be cancelled by pressing the stop
button In this case, disc play Will be stopped.)

(3) Repeat indicator
This indicator lights when the repeat button has been pressed
to activate the repeat mode and goes out when the repeat
mode is cancelled.

eForward and backward search buttons

Use these buttons to move the pickup forward and

backward (Manual search play function).

oWhen either of these buttons is pressed, the pickup will
move slowly at first and then rapidly if the button is held
down for more than about three seconds.

Use the search buttons when the player is in the pause
mode or during disc play to move the pickup to a specific
point on the disc.

CPress the LEI button to move the pickup forward.

IPress the LEI button to move the pickup backward.

Release the search button when the pickup has moved to the

desired location (as shown by the display panel).

oDuring disc play, search can be performed while listening to
the signal from the disc to aid in locating a specific point.
The output level is -12 dB (V4) compared with the level
during standard disc play.

@Forward and backward skip buttons

Use these buttons to move the pickup to the beginning of

the next track In the forward or backward direction

(forward and backward skip play function).

IWhen a skip button is pressed during disc play or the pause
mode, the pickup will skip the same number of tracks as the
number of times the button is pressed.

oWhen a skip button is pressed during program disc play. the
pickup will move to the beginning of the next or previous
programmed track.

OPress the button to move the pickup lorward.

IPress the button to move the pickup backward.

.When either of these buttons is held clown, tracks are
skipped continuously, (Quick skip)

0 Stop button
Press this button to stop disc play.
OWhen this button is pressed. all settings are cancelled and
the player returns to the standby mode.

@Pause button
Press this button to briefly stop disc play.
When this button is pressed, the player switches to the
standby mode.
0To continue disc play. press the play button.

@Pause indicator
This indicator (I I) lights when the pause button has been
activated and goes out when the pause mode ls can-
celled.

@Play button

Press this button to begin disc play.

tWhen this button is pressed during disc play, the pickup
returns to the beginning of the first track and starts playing
the disc again. During program disc play, the pickup returns
to the first programmed track and starts playing the
programmed sequence again.
(Auto return play function)

® Play indicator
This Indicator (b) lights when the play button has been
pressed and goes out when disc play Is stopped.
