The STAX SR-5N electrostatic earspeaker is a direct
descendent of the first electrostatic headphone, the
STAX SR-1. It has been a long time favorite of educa-
tional institutions audiophiles, and broadcast stations.
The SR-5N design is intended to give the listener clear,
well-balanced electrostatic sound at the lowest possible
price.

The earpads of the SR-5N earspeaker are circular and
fit around the ear. This combines with a low-mass
headband that splits to provide a wide base over the
head, making the SR-SN a comfortable wearing head-
phone.

The SR-5N earspeaker system comes packaged with a
SRO-6 self-biasing energizing adaptor that is easily
installed between the loudspeaker and amplifier. A
front panel selector on the SRD-GSB allows easy
switching between loudspeakers and the SR»5N ear-
speaker system.
