Welcome to System-1, the
most flexible audio/video system
available in todays market.

Imagine a music system which integrates award winning in«
dustrial design with extraordinary musical fidelity. Now
imagine the ultimate in convenience - total control of your
entire audio/video system with only a single remote control.
End the cluttered coffee table syndrome forever. The R'l
Programmable System Remote can easily control your Sony
TV, JVC VCR, Pioneer Video Disc Player as well as virtually
any infrared remote controllable audio or video component.
System'l can be configured to fit the lifestyles and require
ments of even the most demanding music lover.

In its simplest form, System'l can become the center of an
outstanding Media Room. The R'l Remote control is the
simplest, yet most flexible programmable remote available It
will easily learn to control the functions of a TV set, 2 VCRs, a
Video Disc Player, as well as the standard complement of
related audio and surround sound equipment.

The SystemOl can be easily operated from a remote location
by adding the BD'l Remote Sensor and the R550? Remote
Speaker Selector. The same musical source will now play in
both rooms connected to the system.

A second R3502 when connected in tandem, allows for
remote control on/off from as many as 4 locations. Each
listening area can be turned on or off independently, without
affecting another, although the volume control will affect all
rooms at the same time, Individual room levels can be
adjusted by installing wallmount volume controls allowing the
C' l 5 volume control to serve as the systemwide master
volume. The master volume control should be set to the
maximum desirable level, then individual controls in each
room may be set at proper listening levels,

The remarkable features of the Systemol stand out especially
when it is interfaced with the SN'l Simul'source Network.
The SNOI is a Multi-Room infrared Repeater System and
MultiSource Switching Network. The SN. 1 , when used in
conjunction with the System. I , allows the user to simultane-
ously access as many as 8 audio/video playback sources in
as many as 5 rooms. Listen to iazz in the iacuzzi while the
kids are rockin and rollin in the playroom. The ease of
operation is unparalleled in this type of system. Simply pick-
up the R'l Remote Control, select the source you wish to
listen to, and touch the play button. In an instant the music
begins. All commands are transmitted to the system via the
BD'l Remote Sensor which fits in a standard single gang
wall plate or can be hidden in the corner of the room in the
ceiling. The speakers in the room are powered by the
RAITOO "Invisible" Remote Amplifier. The RA'lOO provides
a conservative 100 watts of power as well as local tone
controls and a separate input for a local source, such as a TV
set or CD Changer.

What is simul 0 source?

The Soundstream SNOl Simul'source Network is a high
quality combination infrared repeater system and multi-source
switching network. it allows the user to control up to 8 audio

and video components of virtually any brand from as many as
5 listening locations. The SN'l is used in coniunction with
the BD'l Remote Sensor which is connected via the Sound
stream Control Cable. In between the BDOI and the SN-l is
the RA'lOO Remote Room Amplifier.

What is the RA- 100 Room Amplifier?

The RA. 1 00 is a 50 watts/channel Power Amplifier (bridge
able to 100 watts mono) with builtin remotable electronic
volume control, remote balance, bass and treble controls,
maximum output level control, and inputs for a local audio
source. The RA- 1 00 also has the additional capability of
being interfaced with an RSS'Z Remote Speaker Selector to
create multiroom listening zones. Its low profile off-white
chassis can be easily hidden in most room applications.

Why use local room amplifiers?

Most currently available "Multi-Room music systems require
that long runs of speaker cable be used in order to get music
to remote locations. The SN'l Simul'source system uses
local room amplifiers to avoid the signal loss caused by those
long runs and instead uses line level audio and video signals
less susceptible to signal degradation.

What is a multi-room listening zone?

The Simul'source Network allows different music to be played

simultaneously in different rooms. In some cases one might

want to create a group of 2 or 3 rooms where the same music

will be playing at all times. This is often referred to as a
zone".

A good example is a Master Bedroom Suite, consisting of the
Bedroom, Bathroom, and Dressing Room. Because of their
proximity to each other, it is not necessary to have different
music in each room. It would be very convenient, though, to
turn the music on or off and to control the volume levels inde-
pendently in each room. This is accomplished by connecting
an RSS'Z Remote Speaker Selector to the RA'lOO Room
Amplifier, and placing a volume control in line with the
speakers. The signal will be transmitted to the RAOIOO
through the BD'l Remote Sensor allowing speakers to be
turned on or off via the RH Remote Control.

What does the Simulcsource SN-I look like?
The SNOl SimuIOsource Network is designed to be placed
with other System01 components and is therefore styled
similarly, It has only one button on its front panel, marked
MASTER SOURCE. This button allows the user to direct the
system to play the same source throughout the house, The
front panel also has a lens which contains 13 high power
LEDs, which will flood the area with the infrared codes
activating any piece of equipment in the room,

What it I want Simulssource in more than

5 listening zones (rooms)?

The Soundstream SNX'l Simul'source Network Expander
can be used in coniunction with the SN'l to provide an
additional 5 independent rooms of control. More SNXOls
may be added to expand the system to ten or more listening
zones.
