DISASSEMBLY 0F CABINET & CHASSIS

Be sure to unplug the power cord before disassembling the
cabinet and chassis of this unit. Then, go through the
following steps:

1. Remove the four screws (binding head screw 3 x 8 mm),

two on each side, and lift the top cover off the unit.
2. Turn the unit upside down and make it rest on the top.
' After removing the two screws (pan head tapping screw
3 x 10 mm), take off the bottom lid, sliding it forward.

TORQUE ADJUSTMENT

1. Set the unit to the PLAY, FAST FORWARD or REWI ND

mode.

2. Measure the each torque with a torque gauge. They should

be as following: -

PLAY 30 - 60 g/cm
FAST FORWARD 55 - 90 g/cm
REWIND 55 - 100 g/cm

3. 'If the each torque fails to reach the standard value. Clean
the drive belt, flywheel, motor pulley, take-up reel, idler
and rewind roller with a cotton swab soaked in alcohor.

. Remove the control knobs (viz. Recordlevell located

on the front panel.

. Remove the six screws (pan head tapping screw -

w/washer 3 x 8 mm} fastening the front panel, which
can then be taken off.

The cassette lid' Is separable from the unit. Take it off
when cleaning the tape-heads.
