Precautions with Connections
Attach the speaker cord securely to the amplifier' 5 speaker termi-
nals. If the connection wire protrudes from the terminal and touches
another terminal, or if the connection is not secure, noise or malfunc-
tion may result.

' Unless the polarities of the speakers are aligned at the left and right
properly, the sound in the center between the two speakers will ap-
pear to be missing, the instruments will not be positioned properly
for stereo and the stereo directivity will be lacking. Align the polari-
ties on the speakers and amplifier properly (+ to +, - to -).

Connections with Amplifier
* Perform this connection only after either turning the power swith of
the amplifier OFF, or disconnecting the power cord from the socket.
' When using the speaker cord, peel off the insulation from the tip of
the wire, and twist the wire tip before connecting.
Connection between the speakers input terminals and the amplifiers
speaker terminals is made with the accompanying speaker cord. Con-
nect the speakers (+) (red) terminal to the (+) speaker terminal of the
amplifier, and connect the l-) (black) terminal of the speaker to the am-
plifier's (-) speaker terminal. Connect the L (left) channel speaker to
the amplifiers left speaker terminals, and the R (right) channel speaker
to the amplifiers right speaker terminals.

Speakers Installation

When viewed from the front, the speaker system connected to the left
(L) channel amplifier speaker terminals is installed on the left and the
speaker system connected to the right (R) channel amplifier speaker ter-
minals is installed on the right.

* Install the left and right speakers at an equal distance from the listen-
ing position.

Install the speakers in a sturdy flat location which is relatively free
from vibration.

Place the speakers against a solid wall since the low-range frequen-
cies become fuller, the nearer the speakers are located near walls
at the back and sides. Listen to the sound and choose the optimum
position.

Avoid locations where the speakers will be exposed to direct sun-
light and rain.

This is the volume for adjustment of the mid level characteristic. Nor-
mally, this is set to "0, but when the mid level is too strong at this
setting, set to -1 or -2 for listening.

Use a large flat screwdriver for switching.

HIGH LEVEL

This is the volume for adjustment of the high level characteristic. Nor-
mally, this is set to"0", but when the high level is too strong at this
setting, set to -1 or -2 for listening.

Enclosure

When the enclosure is dirty, wipe clean with a dry, soft cloth. Under

no circumstances should thinners, benzine or any other volatile liquid

be used. Also try not to bring insecticide sprays near the speakers.

* Do not place hot objects on top of the enclosure since this may harm
or mark the surface.

Frontgrille removal

To remove the front grille, grasp the grillework near the top edge with

your fingers and pull it gently until the bottom two hooks are free. To

re-place the grille, fit the hooks on the four corners of the grille into the

holes on the front panel of the system, and push gently.

When you use the system with front grille removed, take care not
to damage the mounted speaker units.
