DIRECT BELT-DRIVE SYSTEM: Exclusive
with Sansui, this system features a precision
finished polyurethane endless belt that loops
around the inner rim of the platter and the motor
capstan. lt provides constant and accurate
speeds over longer periods of continuous use
without rumble or wow. Unlike conventional
belt~drive systems. this belt is easily removed
for replacement and is protected against defor~
mation by a special lock mechanism when the
turntable is not in use. in addition. the belt's

aging. abrasion and temperature resistance
characteristics are excellent.

LONG CENTER SPINDLE: Featuring the long
est center spindle in its class. the SR-303OBC'5
platter is designed free from deflecting-even
micrometrically-from a perfectly horizontal
position. The spindle's pivot bearing is made of
strongerthanmetal Teflon for longer life.

HYDRAULIC CUEING: To eliminate the possi-
bility of damaging records and to protect the
sensitive cartridge, the SR-BOBOBC features a
unique oil-damped arm lifter that lowers ard
raises the tonearm at an even, steady speed.
This device also allows the operator to start or
stop play anywhere on a record.

TURNTABLE: For optimum flywheel action.
the SIR-303080 is equipped with a large 12-inch
double rimmed platter. [t is directly driven by
the polyurethane belt looped around its inner
rim and is covered by a special anti-static rubber
mat that avoids charging records with dust
attracting static electricity.

DIECAST MOTORBOARD: To eliminate motor
vibration which might affect sound reproduc-
tion, the entire turntable mechanism is mounted
on a sturdy diecast motorboard.

CONVENIENT CONTROLS: Two speed selec-
tor buttons and a single function lever handle
all playing functions. Just move the lever con-
trol from Off to On. push the proper speed but-
ton, position the tonearm above the record. and
then move the lever control from On to Play.
When play is finished, move the lever control
from Play to On, return the tonearm to its rest
position, and then move the lever control from
On to Off.

INSIDE FORCE CANCELER: A precision
mechanism consisting of an arm and a sus-
pended balancing weight that compensates for
the natural inside force given to the tonearm
during play. Coupled with the weights on the
tonearm that determine stylus pressure. this
mechanism assures that the stylus stays per-
fectly centered in the record groove during play
for surer tracking, better pickup and longer re
cord and stylus life.

STYLING: Designed to compliment the finest
furnishings.the SR-SOSOBCS beautifully curved
tonearm. oil-finished cabinetry and molded
acrylic dust cover make it as pleasing to the eye
as it is to the ear.

ACCESSORY PANEL: To the right of the SR-
BOSOBC's tonearm panel. a special section has
been provided for spare cartridges, weights and
other accessories. It is covered by a foam rub~
ber mat to protect the sensitive accessories.

TUBULAR TONEARM: Since its weight. fric-
tional resistance and inertia have been minit
mized bydesign.theSR~3OBOBC'snon-resonant.
statically~balanced tubular tonearm is excepv
tionally sensitive. It comes equipped with two
weights: a main weight featuring a direct read»
ing stylus pressure scale and a subrweight for
use with unusually heavy cartridges. The main
weight enables stylus pressure adjustments to
be made quickly and accurately by offering both
"click-stop" and "turning adjustment meth~
eds. The universal type cartridge shell and

bayonet fitting shell connector of international
standard make it possible to use almq/ngy
make of cartridge.

4-POLE SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR: This newly
developed hysteresis synchronous motor brings
a new standard in speed consistency into the
turntable field. Capable of operating on either
50 or 60 Hz and on AC voltages from 100 to 117
and from 200 to 240, this capacitor-starting
powerplant maintains steady speeds at all times
since it is not affected by changes in line andpr
load voltages.
