LE This striking model is strictly for the purist looking for the sim
p. (y and accuracy of a manual turntable with the basic convenience of an
automatic. Incorporating two of Sansui's latest engineering breakthroughs-
Auto Lift/Stop mechanismsithe SR-ZOSOC substantially adds to the con
venience of the manual turntable without sacrificing any of its accuracy.
Like most automatics. the SR-ZOSOC's tonearm automatically lifts from the
final groove of the record in play. But unlike conventional automatics which
take advantage of increasing end-oi-play tonearm speed to trigger the lift-
ing device, the SRZOSOC'S Auto Lift mechanism is entirely electrical and
is set in motion by a special detector circuit which activates a relay/solenOid
control system. its advantages are considerable. There is absolutely no
danger to valuable records or stylus due to undesirable side pressure

caused by pulling. The lightest tracking cartridges can be used since the
tonearm does not activate the lifting mechanism. and there are no devices
used that could deteriorate the performance of the tonearm. The Auto
Stop mechanism in the SR-ZOSOC automatically stops the platter as soon
as the tonearm is lifted from the record. Basic motions. such as precision
belt~drive, speed selection and hydraulic cuing are identical to those in pro»
fessional manual turntables. Complete with statically balanced tonearm,
easy»to»use controls, anti-howling insulators and encased in handsome
walnut, the Automanual SR-ZOSOC represents one of the finest stereo in-
vestments available today. As the SR-ZOSOC, it is complete with cartridge.
but it is also available as the SR-ZOSOE, without cartridge.

AUTO LIFT STOP: The SR~2050C is equipped
with Sansui's unique Auto Lift/Stop mechanism,
a relay/solenoid controlled system which repre
sents a substantial improvementover convention-
al automatic lift devices. It eliminates possible
damage to records and stylus. permits the use of
lightrtracking cartridges and does away with the
need for devices which could deteriorate tonearm
performance. The Auto Step element halts plat-
ter rotation as soon as the electrically operated
Auto Lift element has been triggered. The mech~
anism can be adjusted to suit the size of the
record being played.

BELT»DRIVEN DOUBLE-RIM PLATTER: The
belt-drive system en sures even. smooth rotations
with a minimum of noise and rumble. Utilizing
a heavy 12-inch aluminum alloy die-cast platter
of the double-rim type to obtain a maximum
flywheel efiect, this system permits the platter
to be directly driven by the motor. keeping fric~
tional and rotational parts to a bare minimum.
With this design there is also far less chance of
breakdowns.

FOUR-POLE HVSTERESIS SYNCHRONOUS
MOTOR: The SRZOSOC is equipped with aqual~
ity 4-pole synchronous motor that quietly main-
tains constant speeds in the face of fluctuations
in line voltage or load. No fine-adjustments oi
speeds are ever necessary, Special considera~
tion has also been given in the p05ition and
method of mounting the motor to obtain an
exceptional signal-tonoise ratio.

SANSUIS ORIGINAL BELT PROTECTION
SYSTEM: First devised and adopted by Sansui.
this system eliminates any possibility of detor
mation to the drive belt by automatically inter»
locking the speed changeover mechanism when
the Power Switch is turned off.

FEATHER-TOUCH CUING CONTROL: The
SR-ZOSOC boasts a feather-touch cuing control
that doubles as a power switch. Lift it upright,
and the turntable quietly starts to rotate; pull
it further toward yourself. and the built-in oil-
damped tonearm lifter gently lowers the tonearm
on the record. When the Auto Lifter mechanism
is triggered. this control is automatically return
ed to the OFF position,

STURDY ZINC DlEchST BASE FOR CON»
TROLS: This die-cast base avoids resonance.
yet firmly supports the tonearm and oil-damped

arm elevation mechanism. Reinforced with
special ribs. it ofiers extraordinary strength. and
completely eliminates the possibility of warping
or breaking.

GOLD-PLATED CONNECTION TERMINAL
PINS: Expensive gold~plated pins are employed
on the connection terminals of both the tonearm
and the head shell. Overcoming one of the
weaknesses of past turntables. the new connec-
tion terminals no longer get rusty even in warm
areas or areas along ocean coastst

EXPENSIVE SPARE SHELL PROVIDED: The
SR~ZOSOC is supplied with an expensive spare
shell made of a special light alloy. Large holes
are punched in its top surface to make it as light
(8 gramsv as possible; its edge is specially bent
to serve as a reinforcement rib for added
strength; and the part that couples to the car
tridge is double constructed to avoid reso~
nance. lts gold-plated connection terminals are
iashioned as a plug meeting EIA standards. and
can be coupled to tonearms of other makes,

INDUCED MAGNET CARTRIDGE: The SR-
2050C adopts a newly designed induced magnet
cartridge that delivers sound of superior tone
quality without distortion. It is equipped with
a linear type light cantilever so that its moving
part is exceptionally light The resulting high
compliance design makes Tor a significantly
better high-frequency response. Other ad
vantages include a big output voltage and the
capability of delivering high»resolution trans-
parent sound.

POWER INDICATOR LAMP: The SRZOSOC is
provided with a lamp that glows whenever the
turntable is in operation.

HOWLING-PREVENTION INSULATORS: Spe
cial rubber cushion insulators are attached on
the four corners of the bottom of the cabinet to
prevent howling.

BEAUTIFUL WALNUT CABINET: Like most
Sansui products. the SR-ZOSOC makes use of an
expensive. open-pore finished walnut cabinet.

REMOVABLE SMOKED DUST COVER: The
unit comes complete with a smoked acryQt
