Thank you for selecting the Sansui SDM-2 Dynamic Microphone.
Being omni-directional, the SDM-Z picks up the sound around it a
full 360 degrees With extreme fidelity. Read through the following
instructions quickly once, and youll be better prepared to acquire
the maximum performance out of the micrOphone.

FEATURES

1) A dynamic type microphone, the SDM-Z not only offers excellent
frequency response, tonal quality, and sensitivity characteristics,
but is extremely rugged.

2) A 10 kilo-ohm microphone, the SDM-2 can be directly connected
to the microphone input terminal of most amplifiers or tape decks
Without the need for an impedance matching transformer. Another
advantage is that it attenuates high-frequency sound less than a 50
kilo-ohm type does, should the connecting cord be extended long.

CONNECTIONS

1) Check and find out the input impedance of your tape deck (or
amplifier). If it is 10 kilo-ohms or more (which is most cases), the
SDM-Z may be directly connected to such equipment.

2) If the input impedance of such equipment happens to be 600 ohms
or 250 ohms, be sure to connect a microphone input transformer
between the microphone and such equipment, as illustrated below.

MAINTENANCE HINTS
If You Want Longer Cord

The performance characteristics of the SDM-2 are adjusted so that
the microphone performs best when connected with the accompany-
ing 5-meter long connecting cord. Should you require longer cord
for some reason, however, be sure to keep the final length within
10 meters. Extending the cord length could sometimes result in an
attenuation of high-frequency sound or generation of noise.
