We are grateful for your choice of this Sansui high fidelity pro-
duct. Before you operate it, we suggest that you read this book-
let once through carefully, familiarizing yourself with the im-
portant precautions, operational procedures and every one of
the product's many features. it will help to ensure that you will
avoid possible damage and that the products superb perform-
ance will be yours to enjoy for many years to come.

Precautions with Connections

* Connect both ends of the speaker cords to the speakers' and ampli-
fier's terminals properly. Noise may be generated or malfunctioning
is invited when the conductor of the cord is exposed and touches
another terminal or when the connections have not been performed
properly. _

" Unless the polarities of the speakers are aligned at the left and right
properly, the sound in the center between the two speakers will ap<
pear to be missing, the instruments will not be positioned properly for
stereo and the stereo directivity will be lacking. Align the polarities on
the speakers and amplifier properly (+ to +, - to -).

Connections with Amplifier

Connect the speaker terminals on the amplifier with the speakers input
terminal using the accessory speaker cords but first either set the ampli-
fier's power switch to OFF or disconnect the power plug.

Connect the amplifier's (+) speaker terminals with the speakers (+) (red)
terminals and the amplifier's (--) speaker terminals with the speaker's (-)
(black) terminals.

Enclosure

When the enclosure is dirty, wipe clean with a dry, soft cloth. Under no

circumstances should thinners, benzine or any other volatile liquid be

used. Also try not to bring insecticide sprays near the speakers.

* Do not place hot objects on top of the enclosure since this may harm
or mark the surface.

Frontgrille removal: To remove the front grille, grasp the grillework near

the top edge with your fingers and pull it gently until the bottom two

hooks are free. To replace the grille, fit the hooks on the four corners of

the grille into the holes on the front panel of the system, and push gently.

0 When you use the system with front grille removed, take care not to
damage the mounted speaker units.

Speakers Installation

When viewed from the front, the speaker system connected to the L

(left) channel amplifier speaker terminals is installed on the left and the

speaker system connected to the right (R) channel amplifier speaker ter-

minals is installed on the right.

' Install the left and right speakers at an equal distance from the listen-
ing position.

* Install the speakers in a sturdy flat location which is relatively free
from vibration.

* Place the speakers against a solid wall since the low-range frequencies
become fuller, the nearer the speakers are located near walls at the'
back and sides. Listen to the sound and choose the optimum position.

* Avoid locations where the speakers will be exposed to direct sunlight
and rain.

0 position. Conversely, the midrange sound is reduced by setting the
control to the -1 range position. Select the position which suits your
preference.

High Range

When the treble (high-range) sound is higher than the overall sound, set
