SOLID STATE INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER This handsome
package of advanced circuitry and performance characteristics could
only come from a manufacturer as specialized as Sansui. A totally-
new integrated amplifier with a host of special features, the AU-
6500 represents another milestone in the company's pursuit of
quality and excellence. In terms of performance, the AU-6500
ranks very near to the finest amplifier ever made, meaning you
could match it only by making a tremendous investment in special-
ized studio-type equipment. The AU-6500 boasts such performance
characteristics as total harmonic distortion and intermodulation
distortion which has been limited to below 0.1% throughout the
audio spectrum and well beyond. With its super-wide power band-
width of 5-40,000Hz, you can achieve RMS power of 32 watts per

hannel each channel driven, into 8 ohms, along with total harmonic

stortion which never exceeds 0.1 %- Inside the AU-6500 are a PNP-

NPN-PNP heterojunction three stage direct-coupled equalizer ampli-
fier with an input capacity of no less than 300mV RMS (1kHz) assur-
ing such a wide dynamic range. There are also low-noise PNP
transistor tone control circuits and a direct-coupled OCL pure com-
plementary power amplifier employing two 6,800/1F jumbo power
supply capacitors. And to make this a total-performance component,
the AU-6500 is equipped with a variety of convenience features,
including a 4-chandel adaptor switch, low and high filters, muting
and loudness controls, and the ability to handle up to two tape decks.
The AU-6500 it has been meticulously tested, retested and proven
to perform to all the company's claims and promises. You're cer-
tainly not going to go wrong with a piece of equipment like this. And
youre never going to go wrong with the company that made it.

DIRECT-COUPLED OCL PURE COMPLE-
MENTARY POWER AMPLIFIER: The com-
pletely direct-coupled OCL (output-capacitor-
less) pure complementary amplifier is driven
by dual (plus and minus) powerful, stable
power supplies from two 6,800/iF jumbo
capacitors. This amplifier permits negative
feedback to be evenly applied from the DC
range on up to the super highs. Its damp»
ing factor is perfectly flat all the way to
the deep low frequencies, which helps in
reducing the irregular movement of the
speaker cones to an unprecedented degree.
In the important differential amplifier, se-
lected lowvnoise silicon transistors and ripple
filters work together to create extremely
high stability.

LOW-NOISE TONE CONTROL AMPLIFIER:
From its first stage to its output stage, the
tone control amplifier exclusively employs
select low-noise silicon transistors for low
distortion, a high signal-to-noise ratio and
wide response. For perfect control effects,
it is equipped with bass and treble controls
set in click stops of 3dB each and adjustable
within ilSdB.

HIGH AND LOW FILTERS:

Efiective high and low filters are provided on
the AU-6500 to eliminate common low-
frequency noise (such as turntable motor
rumble) and high-frequency noise (suchas
scratch noise from a worn record).
4-CHANNEL ADAPTOR TERMINAL
SWITCH: The AU-6500 is ready for 4-
channel when you are. Special facilities are
provided on the amplifier to connect and
control a 4-channel adaptor. Pushing down
the lever switch activates the external
4echannel adaptor.

TAPE MONITOR AND TWO PHONO IN-
PUT CIRCUITS: The AU-6500 connects
one tape deck, but still allows tape dubbing
from one tape deck to a second if you utilize
the 4-channel adaptor jack for the second
deck. There are also two phono input cir-
cuits, with impedances of 50kt).

CONNECTS TWO PAIRS 0F SPEAKER
SYSTEMS: You can connect up to two
pairs of speaker systems with the AU-6500,
and drive them either separately or simul-
taneouslygor cut them both offfiby a front-
panel control.

COMPLETE PROTECTION CIRCUIT: The
AU-65OO employs a newly-designed protec-
tion circuit utilizing three transistors, six
diodes and a relay to protect the vital power
transistors and your speaker systems in the
event speaker terminals are accidentally
shorted or other abnormal conditions occur.
MATCHING, ELEGANT APPEARANCE:
Sansuis traditional design for its AU series
of components is responsible for the AU-
6500's striking good looks. Its dimensions
are the same as the Sansui TU-7500 stereo
tuner, meaning you can place the two side
by side. or on top of each other. A wooden
cabinet is available at extra cost.
