A WORD FROM All OF US AT ROTEL

Thank you for purchasing our RCD 975 Digital Compact Disc Player. We have been designing
and manufacturing high quality, high performance audio electronics for more than 30 years.
This CD player was designed by us to offer lifelike sound and is a natural extension of our love
for music. Our passion for good sound and our love of music is well known. We believe that the

music played through the RCD 975 will be a source of enjoyment to you for many years to
come.

Rotel is committed to making quality products to enhance your life. We have designed this CD
player to be durable, easy to use and to have high fidelity to the original sound. Please read the
owners manual to ensure that the RCD 975 is properly installed and able to offer optimum
performance. We appreciate being a part of your life.

FEATURES OF THE RCD 975 CD PLAYER

This CD player uses two Multiplebit Bitstream Continuous Calibration Digital to Analog
Converters in a dual differential circuit and a 16x Oversampling 20 Bit Digital Filter. This D/A
conversion system has very low noise levels compared to conventional bitstream designs and
is free from spurious signals. This circuit design has superb low level linearity and cancels
common mode distortion in the conversion process. The DlA constantly adjusts for changes in
voltage and ambient temperature This is more accurate than conventional laser trimmed
converter chip sets. We believe this helps to make RCD 975 a superb sounding CD player.

The RCD 975 has an excellent, highly regulated power supply, derived from a toroidal
transformer and slit film capacitors. This provides it with stable, low noise and ripple free power
for the servo, digital and analog stages of the circuitry.

We designed and manufactured RCD 975 with the Philips COM-9 loader and a Philips single-
beam, radial tracking laser pickup system. We have chosen these designs for their superb
performance. This is more costly than using a sled mount 3 beam design. We are convinced
that their inherent excellence requires their use in the design and manufacture of the RCD 975.

INSTALLATION OF THE RCD 975 CD PLAYER

Please place the unit on a DRY, level surface away from direct sunlight. Avoid placing objects
on top of the RCD 975. Do not allow water to fall into the CD player as this could damage the
circuitry. Avoid installing the CD player in a location where excessive heat, humidity, vibration
or moisture will be a problem. We recommend installing the RCD 975 in furniture designed to
house audio components. This will allow the CD player to be on its own shelf with nothing
stacked on top of it. This will minimize potential interference with other components in your
system, such as your tuner.

Component furniture will also reduce or suppress vibration and all audio components will
provide improved sound when free from vibration. Ask your ROTELhi fi Authorized Dealer for
advice about component furniture and proper installation of audio components.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

This CD player is designed to work on AC voltage and the correct voltage is displayed on the
Back Panel. Do not attempt to operate the RCD 975 on incorrect voltage as this will
