Your Realistic CD (Compact Discl ~ I000 is another
state-oI-the-art audio product from Radio Shack. It
uses the tirst truly revolutionary audio technology since
the introduction of audio tape over 35 years ago a
Iowrpower laser beam reads digital inlormation Irorn
the compact disc and converts II into audio signals.

Because only light touches the disc, there is no disc
wear during normal use. With proper care, the disc
wtll retain its original quality practically forever. And
even il the disc becomes slightly scratched, the

CD» I 000 has Circuits that electronically reconstruct"
small sections of missing or damaged digital
intormation.

A compact disc (4 3/4" in diameter) can hold up to 75
minutes at program material on a Single side 7 more
than both sides ol 0 I2" LP record.

You Can Hear the Dillerence

The audio specifications ol the CD-IOOO are
dramatically improved over conventional turntables
and records, and other analog audio systems llapes).
These improved specs represent a cleaner sound lor
you, the listener.

For example, the signal-lo-nOise ratio of 95 dB is
about 30 times better than records. There is no tape
hiss or scratch noise introduced by the CDIOOO.

The dynamic range (contrast between loud and soil
passages) is 95 dB, as compared to 50 e 60 dB on
records.

The irequency response is 5 - 20,000 Hz 1 0.5 dB.
This small variation (t 0.5 dB} over the entire audible
range means that you will hear exactly what was
recorded.

The distortion {0.003%} and the wow and llulter
I0.00l%t are practically immeasurable and are lor
below limits detectable by the Ituman ear.

disc is lirst loaded and when the player is in the stop
mode, shows the total number at tracks and the total
playing time on the disc.

During play, shows the track (and index, ii the disc has
index information) being played and the elapsed time
from the beginning at the track.

The digital display also shows information being
entered tor the CIUIOmuIIC play leatures listed above.

Optional Timer Operation - allows you to turn the
CD- I 000 on or all using a separate, optional timer.
