Additional Laser Caution
1. Laser Interlock Mechanism
The ON/ OFF (ON : low level, OFF: high level) status of the
LES]. ($601) and LPSZ ($602) switches for detecting the
loading state is detected by the system microprocessor. and the
design prevents laser diode oscillation when both switches LP51
and LPSZ are not ON (low Ievel)(clamped state).
Thus, interlock will no longer function ifswitches LPSl (5601)
and LPSZ(SSDZ) are deliberately shorted.
Also, in the test mode. the interlock mechanism does not
operate too.
Laser diode oscillation will continue if pins 2 and 3 of
CXA14715 (IC101) are connected to ground or pin 20 is
connected to high level (ON) or the terminals of (2101 are
shorted to each other (fault condition).

. When the cover is opened with the servo mechanism block
removed to be turned over. close viewing of the objective lens
with the naked eye will cause exposure to a Class 1 or higher
laser beam.
