POWER-CORD PnOTECTION - Power-supply cords should be routed so that they ars not likely to be walked on or pinched by i1-ぎms placed upon or against them, paying panicular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit trom th-ぎ appliance. POLARIZATION - lf your purch8sed product is pro- vided wirh E polarized power plug, pl-ぎ8s read the lollowing instructions. This product is equipped wilh 8 polariued alternating currsnt line plug {a plug having ono blado wider than ths other). This plug will tit into the power outl-ぎt only one way. This is a salety fsature. ll you are unable ta insen the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing ths plug. lf the plug should slill lail lo fit, contsct your electrician to replace your obsolet-ぎ ouilet. For all other seryicing, con- tacl ths nearest Pioneer authorizod seryice center, OUTDOOR ANTENNA GROUNDING - lf an outside antenna is connecled to the anlenna teminal, be sure the antenna system is grounded so as to provide som-ぎ protection against voltage surges and built up stalic charges.ln the U.S.A. s-ぎction 810 ol the Narional Elec- tricsl Code. ANSI/NFPA No. 70-1984. pro- vides information with respect to proper grounding of the mast and supponing slruc- tu16, grounding of the lead-in wir-ぎ to an anten- na discharge unil, siz-ぎ of grounding conduc- tors, location of snlenna-discharge unil, con- nection to grounding elect.odes, and re- quirements for the grounding electrode. See Fig. A. TO 'XIEF{AL A\TE!!A TEFM NALS OF PFOOUC; a) Us-ぎ No. 10 AWG (5.3 mmr) copper, No. 8 AWG (8.4 mmr) aluminum, No, 17 AWG (1.0 mm2) copper- clad steel, bronze wire, or larger as ground wire. b) Secure ant-ぎnna lead-in and ground wires to house with stand-off jnsulatoc spaced trom 4 feet {1.22 meters) to 6 feet (1,83 melers) apart. c) Mount anlenna discharge unit as closely as possible to where lead-in ente6 house. d) Use jumper wire not smaller than No.6 AWG (13.3 mm?) copper or equivalent when separate antenna-ground- ing electrode is used.
