CONFIDENTIAL - PEAVEY ELECTRONICS CORPORATION

I. For ANY Vypyr that Is returned for ANY reason (-95% of initial problems).
A. Verity tightness of ALL lntemal screws and nuts (corrects hum & noise).
I 8. Verify tightness of ALL cabinet/grillelspeaker screws.
0. Verify loam tape to front chassis edge to quell mechanical noise.
D. Verify loam tape between grille trim and chassis to reduce noise.

E. Verify that 'CMV' (22uF) Is on DSP board or on MV cable (near P2).

1. Corrects unknown Dc offset.

2. Corrects units that 'shut down' at some particular Mv level.
F. Check integrity of ALL ribbon cable connections and add glue, as needed.
6. Check Encoder switch settings ($13,812.811.810)....08Down; 1=Up.

1. Vypyr 15 - No switches present. all We

2. Vypyr 30 - (0.0.01)

3. Vypyr 75 - (0.0.1.0)

4. Vypyr 100 - (0.0.1.1)

5. Vypyr 60 - (0.1.0.0)

8. Vypyr 120 - (0.1.0.1)

7. Vypw120HD - (0.1.1.0) (stock for dark 412 cab)

8. Vypyr 120be - (0.1.1.1) (mod for alternate cab it 'too bright)
H. Update to latest code release. per EnglneerlnglPD
I. Remove C12 from all USB aseembiles. If not done (see item Ill below)
J. Change R2 to 1.1K on all MIDI assemblies, it not done (see item N below)
K. Change 085. C33. and 073 to #30300152 on DSP assembly (see item VVI below)
i... Re-initlaitze unit by powering up unit while holding preset buttons 1 8- 2 ONLY IF the
12 front panel presets are not working.

il. Vypyr 15 Only.
A. Verify that CB (power amp) Is 3.3nF. Instead of 100pF.
1. Corrects oscillation.
2. May be noted as 'mechanlcal noise' or buzz.
3. Refer to ECN0021758.
B. When snapping DSP boards. note that e V15 has a different stuffing at R7:

Ill. Vypyr 75 Only.
A Verify that NJR +l-15V regulators (U1 a. 02) are used on power amp. 30 700 519
1. Incorrect devices are marked 'KlA....must be replaced. 30;; 00 17¢;
2. Caught on 1 run....no ECN. ' '

8. Change R5 from 150 Ohm/6W to 250 Ohm/5W part. . 16
1. Refer to ECW021799. M'- Ma?
C. Verity that VR2 (Power Sponge) is a correct 31190914 pot.
1. Earliest units shipped with incorrect single-element 10KB.
2. Incorrect parts are GREEN In color.
3. Caught on 1st run....no ECN.

III. MIDI or Sanpera Issue: (30/7511 00/60/1201120HD: to be corrected on ALL units).
A. Verify that R2 on MIDI board is 1.1K. instead 01 2.2K. 3 2.90195
1. Corrects MiDi functionality. Without this mod somae amps will not respond to
incoming MIDI from Sanpera or other units. even though the Sanpera will still
reSWnd to preset changes from amp (name on LCD. etc.)
2. Refer to ECN0021774.

IV. Tick or 'ciioking' on USB recordings (75I1ODI60/120I120HD; to bet-arrested on ALL units).
A. Verify that 012 has been removed trom USB board.
1. Refer to ECN0021800.

V. Other Iflrely suspects for garden variety problems.
A. Bad ribbon cables.
1. Any cables replace should be glued to the headers.
B. Whlekering between solder joints at headers.
1. Most common on the bottom of the PC35.
2. Causes intermlltent or lower level operation.

VI. Won't 'stert in cold weather.
A. Use low-ESE capacitors In 1.2V supply on DSP assembly.
1. Change 085. CS3. and C73 to #30300152.
2. Refer l0 [0 ECW021807. m

3.199; mltialtzgggn Mgges (Hold Ing power up):

1 a. 2 Relnittaitze presets.

2 8. 3 Gain stages - let, 2nd, 3rd. Os-tmDAC (mute).

1 & 4 Display code revision.

3 8. 4 Toggle onloff light show. Setting will be seen on next powerup.

Enter Test Mode by holding the EFFECT encoder bulton on power up.

Test LED sweep by pressing TAP TEMPO button.

Test Midi by preeetng AMP encoder button wnh sanpena Inserted into MIDI. This is usually done
with the ioopback connector.

Test encoders by tuming knobs.

Preset Buttons 1-4 engage analog TraneTube stages a. zeroes to DAC.
