Using the AC adaptor

Connect the AC adaptor supplied.
DC IN jack (DO IN 4.5 v 96-6)

Household

Conserving power

The AC adaptor consumes 2.0 W when the unit is
turned cit with [l.0PFt OFF]. To save power when the
unit is not to be used for a long time. unplug the AC
adapter from the household AC outlet. Reprogram
tracks it necessary beiore use.

Using rechargeable batteries
(not included)

Obtain the optional rechargeable batteries.

Make sure to recharge the batteries belore using them.
The unit cannot be used to charge rechargeable batter-
ies other than those specially designed tor it,

Recharging procedure

Insert the special rechargeable bat-
teries into the unit.

2 Connect the AC adaptor.
(Reler to "Using the AC adapter lor connection
instructions.) Recharging starts and the G"
charging indicator flashes on and oil on the unit's
display. When the rechargeable batteries iully
recharge the charging indicator disappears.

HOLD Function

3 When recharging is complete, un-
plug the AC adaptor from the
household AC outlet and the DC IN

Note

IFtedlargeable batteries have a service lile oi approxi-
mately 300 charge-discharge cycles. It the operating
time on one lull charge becomes noticeably shorter
than it used to be. the battery has reached the end at
its service lile and should be replaced,

oFlecharging may only be pertorrned when the unit is
powered oil. (It is not possible to recharge the batter:
ies while playing a CD.)

IThe AC adaptor and rechargeable batteries may be-
come warm while recharging is in progress. This is not
a malfunction.

Using the car adaptor

The SL-SX271C and SL-SX27ZC come with a car
adaptor. Be sure to use the adaptor specially designed
for these models.

(Reler to the separate installation instructions.)

Be sure to obtain lhe car adaptor (SH-CD09) ior SL-
SX270 and SL-SX275 available as an optional accesso-

The car adaptor can be used to recharge the unit's bat-
leries while in the car.

Using dry-cell batteries
(not included)

Alter disconnecting the AC adaptor. insert two 'AA'
(LRS) alkaline batteries.

The procedure (or inserting and removing dry-cell
batteries is Identical to that tor rechargeable bat-
teries.

Battery indicator

Battery indicator

This indicator llashes on and oil when the batteries are
almost out at power. Power is cut all completely a short
while later.

Rechargeable batteries: Recharge batteries.
Dry-cell batteries: Replace batteries with new ones.

short, accidental button presses. (The
disc lid can still be opened and closed.)
The HOLD tunction prevents the
following:

OPcwering on the unit accidentally
(which can cause the batteries to mn
down).

OPIay being cut oil unexpectedly in the
middle 01 a selection.

To use the HOLD tunction
Set [HOLD] to the HOLD position.

"ha ,I d" indication

When the unit is in HOLD status, press-
ing any button causes the indication
"ho ,' d" to appear on the display.

When the unit Is powered ott

The 'hg ,' d" indication appears only
when [DH] is pressed.

Before operating the buttons
Be sure to move [HOLD] to release
the unit from the HOLD mode.
