The serial number is written on the rear panel of this

unit. Copy the serial number and model number onto your ONKYO
warranty card and keep it in a safe place. a

For Safety

Please read the following safety instructions before using
this unit.

Read Instructions 7 All the safety and operating in-
structions should be read before the unit is operated.

Retain Instructions - The safety and operating in-
structions should be retained for future reference.

Heed Warnings 7 All warnings on the unit and in the
operating instructions should be observed.

Follow Instructions - All operating and use instrucv
tions should be followed.

Water and Moisture - The unit should not be used near
water, for example, near a washbowl, fishbowl or in a
damp basement.

. Carts and Stands - The unit should be used only with

a cart or stand that is recommended by the manufac-
turer.

. Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The unit should be

mounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by
the manufacturer.

Ventilation r The unit should be situated so that its
location or position does not interfere with proper
Ventilation. For example, it should not be placed on a
bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block the
ventilation openings or placed in a built-in installation,
such as a bookcase or cabinet, that may impede the
flow of air through the ventilation openings.

. Heat a The unit should be situated away from heat

sources such as radiators, heat outlets or other ap»
pliances that produce heat.

Power Sources - The unit should be connected to a
power supply only of the type described in the
operating instructions or as marked on the rear panel.

, Grounding or Polarization - Be sure the unit is

properly grounded and that polarization is correct.

. Power Cord Protection ~ Power Supply cords should

be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on
or pinched by items placed upon or against them,
paying particular attention to cords at plugs,
convenience receptacles and the point where they exit
from the unit.

Cleaning A To keep the unit looking like new, wipe
the cabinet every now and then with a silicon cloth or
other suitable soft material. To remove heavier stains
and smears, clip a soft cloth in a weak solution of
neutral cleanser, wring out well and then wipe clean.
Wipe dry with a separate dry soft cloth. Do not use a
rough cloth or solvents since these tend to mar the
appearance and even remove panel lettering.

Periods of Nonuse - The power cord of the unit
should be unplugged from the outlet when the unit is
left unused for a long period of time,

Spillage - Care should be taken so that objects do
not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure
through the openings.

Damage Requiring Service ~ The unit should be

serviced by qualified service personnel when:

A. The power supply cord or plug has been damaged;
or

B. Objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled into
the unit: or

C. The unit has been exposed to rain; or

D. The unit does not appear to operate normally or
exhibits a marked change in performance; or

E. The unit has been dropped, or the enclosure dam»
aged.

Servicing - The user should not attempt to service
the unit beyond that described in the operating in-
structions. All other servicing should be referred to
qualified service personnel.

Note:

0 AC Fuse
The fuse is located inside the chassis and is not user
serviceable. If power does not come on, contact your
Onkvo dealer.

0 Voltage Selector (Rear Panel)
The M-506RS is equipped with a voltage selector to
conform with local power supplies. Be sure to set this
switch to match the voltage of the power supply in
your area before turning the power switch on.
Voltage is changed by sliding the groove in the switch
with a screwdriver or similar instrument to right or
left. Confirm that the switch has been moved all the
way to the right or left before turning the power
switch on.
