CHECKS AND ADJUSTMENTS

1. ANGULAR DETECTOR

Protect the sensor Iron-t the influence oI any external light sources
Connect a DCVM betweenlPGl + ) and "N l , l

Swing the tone arm to left as tar as the stop then adjust Vntot
to obtain a voltage of + 9V

When the arm is swung to the right. the voltage should be

With the tone arm lift raised. turn the scrowm slightlyooun-

With the tone arm [in raised. set to 0 V (.t 500 mV) with
eccentric screw [2).

2. ADJUSTMENT OF REJECT AT END OF DISK

Set the eccentric screw (3) so that when the arm reaches
the end of the disk, it automatically returns to llS initial position

3. ARM LIFT HEIGHT

Place the arm vertically above the disk
With the screw 15) adjust the gap between the disk and the
stylus tip to approximately 5 mm.

4. TRACKING FORCE

Bring the adjusting ring (4) to position 0. Adjust the counter-
weight (1) to balance the tone arm in the horizontal position.

Adjust the tracking lorce to 1.5 9 by moving the adjusting
ring (4).

5. AUTOMATIC SEARCHING

a) Start of search

Set the « sensttivtty n switch to the middle position.
Connect an oscrlloscope between TPt (ground) and TPS
Select the 7th track and press « start/reject »
The voltage should vary each time the arm moves over the
smooth interval between tracks
AdIUSI VR103 so that this voltage variation is approximately
1' 7 V

b) End oI search
Set the « sensitivrty - switch to the middle pos-tion
Connect an oscilloscope between (TM) (ground) and "'4
Select a track
when the arm comes to the end of the chosen track. the mea
sured voltage should become negatives
Adjust Vfltoz so that [his voltage rs approximately 2 9 V

6. SMOOTH TRACK DETECTOR

During automatic searching II the tone arm sets down out5ide
the smooth leader track to the chosen tracki adjust VRIOI to
correct the error
