pated through the ventilation openings in the top and bottom panels.
Maintain free and unrestricted ventilation, and do not remove the feet
of the unit. Avoid blocking the ventilation openings (be careful of
curtains, draperies, rugs, etc. blocking theopenings). When installing
in a rack or shelf, be sure the unit is properly ventilated. Allow at
least 2 inches of space on all sides.

Connections

Connect all leads firmly to the speaker and input/output terminals.
Loose connections or shorting with other parts of the unit can lead
to impaired performance and might even cause interference and
damage to the unit. Always turn the power off and remove the plug
from the power outlet before connecting or disconnecting leads, or
changing your turntables cartridge.

Operation

During record playback, howling and hum may occur. In such cases.

check for the following problems:

(1) If the turntable is placed on, or is close to a speaker, vibrations
from the speaker are easily picked up by the cartridge, causing
howling. in this case move the turntable further away from the
speaker or try to insulate the turntable using a thick cushion
or the like.

(2) ll unshielded cables are used for turntable connection. hum
may occur. Hum may also come about when a shielded cable
is used, when the ground (outer mesh) and signal (inner core)
connections are reversed. or if theturntable motor is not properly
grounded.

your speakers seriously).

turned on. first make sure that all connections and operation proce»
dures are correct. Then turn off the POWER button, turn the volume
down and wait a few seconds. Next, turn the POWER button on again.
if the sound from both speakers is cut off again, some malfunction
or problem inside the circuitry preventing the signal from being sent
to the speakers may be suspected. in this case contact your nearest
authorized NlKKO Service Center for inspection and/er servicing.
Note: if a short-circuit occurs, the protective circuits will cut off
the sound output. However. if the speakers are properly
connected to the rear panel SPEAKERS terminals, sound
