many years of outstanding headphone listening pleasure.
Installation Precautions
Your new X-CANV2
is designed and built to provide trouble-free performance, as
with all electronic devices it is however necessary to observe a few precautions.
Please ensure that you have complied with these before you connect the power to
your X-CANV2
. Retain this guide for future reference.
nDo not use the X-CANV2
near water. The unit shall not be exposed to
dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases,
shall be placed on the unit.
nKeep the X-CANV2
away from heat sources such as radiators. No naked
flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the
unit.
nOnly use the mains adaptor provided. The use of other adaptors
could seriously damage your X-CANV2
.
nPlace all connecting cables where they are not likely to be
walked on or trapped by items placed on them.
nX-CANV2
will operate in accordance with its specifications as long as
the environmental conditions are kept in the following ranges:-
Temperature5 to 45 degrees Celsius
Humidity10 to 90% non condensing
This Hi-Fi product has been tested to ensure that its operation will not be
adversely affected by normal background levels of R.F.I. (Radio Frequency
Interference). It is possible that if the unit is subjected to abnormally high
levels of R.F.I. the unit may not perform as expected. In the unlikely event
of this happening please contact Musical Fidelity's service department.
Do not remove any covers, the X-CANV2
will not be covered under warranty if it
has been tampered with. There are no adjustments within. Please refer all service
work to an authorised Musical Fidelity agent.
Caution!
The X-CANV2
is capable of producing high listening levels with very low distor-
tion into most headphones. Be aware that prolonged high level listening can per-
manently damage your hearing.ConnectionsAll connections should be made before the mains adaptor is plugged in.The X-CANV2can be easily connected either to an available line level output or into the tape monitor loop of most amplifier systems.If your system has an unused line level output (for instance an unused taperecord output) simply connect a set of RCA/phono leads from this output tothe Line In sockets on the X-CANIf there is no spare set of outputs the X-CANyour amplifier and tape recorder (in the tape monitor loop) in the followingway.Connect a set of RCA/phono leads from the amplifier Tape Record outputs(sometimes labeled Tape Out) to the X-CANpanel. Then connect another set of RCA/phono lead from the Line Out sockets on the X-CANV2rear panel to the Line In (or Tape Record) input ofyour tape recorder. See below.With either type of connection whichever source is selected on your amplifier, will automatically be sent to the X-CANFor the best results we recommend that you use Musical Fidelity X-LINX"no-nonsense" interconnect cables for all connections. The X-CANV2has been designed so that it may be left on indefinitely. Line OutAMPLIFIERAMPLIFIERTape Out
