UHF TUNER ALIGNMENT - KTT-626

The UHF output signal is coupled to
VHF tuner with inter-connecting
cables. B+ Voltage of the UHF tuner
is obtained by an inter-connecting
lead between the UHF tuner and VHF
tuner.

The tuner is factory pre-aligned.
Alignment is not necessary or re-
commended.

The UHF tuner components are
rugged mechanisms and unless ob-
vious damage or tampering has oc-
cured, it should only be necessary
to adjust the mixer crystal current
for proper operating limits.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

UHF Sweep Generator: Tel-in-
strument type 1211, 12115 having a
30. ohm balanced matching pad such
an the RCA WG-224, WG-ZZ3, TIC-
1655 or equivalent instrument. In-
ternal marker not used.

External Marker Generator: Out-
,putwl volt ,or,more;,,£ixed,ireq_u,ency
44Mc; accuracy 1%.

Power Supply: TV chassis or other
shop supply (135V DC thru a 15K
resistor).

Milliammeter: 0-5 Ma range (20
ohms for total resistance of injec-
tion metering circuit).

TUNER CONNECTIONS

CAUTION: It is imperative that a
good ground connection exist be-
tween the power source andthe tuner
housing before applying power. This
procedure will prevent any possible
damage or failure of the mixer crys-
tal within the tuner.

1. Connect the UHF tuner B+ tie
point_(G-5) to the VHF tuners UHF
B+ T.P." through the series resistor
specified in the respective UHF
tuners schematic diagram.

3. Cover must be in place during
adjustment,

4. Allow approximately 15 minutes
warm-up time before adjustment,

5. Connect UHF sweep generator
thru matching pad to tuner antenna
plugs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is NOT recommended that any additional adjustments be made other than those

given below, otherwise, proper adjustment may be impossible. Remove oscillator cover; adjustments are
accessible through opening in oscillator cover.
