CONGRATULATIONS

You now own one of the finest pedals made. To insure
your satisfaction, please take a few moments to read
this booklet which will point up features of the pro-
duct that may be new to you. Above all. we hope you
enjoy your new Morley as much as we enjoyed building it
for you.

GENERAL INFORMATION

This Morley pedal controls electrical signals with (LED)
light sources and electro-optical resistors which do not
wear or make mechanical or electrical noise. They last
for many, many years with no maintenance.

The power for the pedal is either battery or AC line
operated adapter, whichever is more convenient. The
Stereo Volume pedal uses one nine volt battery. This
is especially useful for traveling musicians who en-
counter line noises, varying voltages and power condi-
tions in different parts of the world. The Morley line
adapter is available in 120 or 240 volt models and de-
livers power to the pedal at 12 to 16 volts DC negative
ground. when the adapter is plugged in, the batteries
are automatically disconnected. LED lights when power
is on.

Power is turned off with a switch or by removing the
plugs from the SLSV amplifier jacks. This double pre-
caution prevents the battery from being inadvertently
run down.

The SLSV is the equivalent of two volume pedals in one.
You will notice on the pedal housing there are two instru-
ment inputs labeled Channel 1 and 2 and two amplifier
outputs labeled Channel 1 and 2.

Signals fed into input 1 emit from output 1. Signals fed
into input 2 emit from output 2.

Stereo guitars. two separate keyboard instruments. or any
two signals may be controlled simultaneously and fed into
either two separate amplifiers, two separate channels

of the same amplifier, or if desired into a single channel
of one amp when it is desirable to mix the signals.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

The SLSV may also be used as a monaural volume pedal if
only one signal is present.

Use four standard (conventional) shielded cords with 5;
inch plugs for hook up.

1 - Plug two cords into the two signal sources. Connect
the other ends to the SLSV Jacks marked Instrument"
channel 1 and channel 2.

2 - Connect the two other cords to the two SLSV jacks
marked "Amplifier". Connect the other ends to the
one or two amplifiers to be used. Adjust amplifiers to
the approximate volume and tone settings desired.

3 - Turn on power switch. Be sure there is a good battery
or power adapter connected to the SLSV. The LED in-
dicator lanp will light if all is well with the power.

USING THE VOLUME PEDAL TRAVEL AND MINIMUM VOLUME CONTROLS

Set the travel control at the extreme counter clockwise
position.

When the heel is all the way down the signal is turned
off. As the toe is gradually depressed. the signal
smoothly turns on and gets progressively louder. It
reaches full volume just as it approaches the limit of

its travel. l

By placing the travel control in a more clockwise position,
the turn on will occur more quickly and approach full
volume sooner. With the travel control fully clockwise.
the completed turn on will occur in about 15 percent of
the total treadle motion.

This capability makes for a highly versatile pedal.
adaptable to many styles of play, music, and seating
position.

The minimum volume allows the adjustment of the signal
level from zero to A desired level with the heel of the
pedal fully down.
