CONGRATULATIONS

You

sure your satisfaction, please take a few moments to read
this booklet which will point up features of the product

that may be new to you.

Above all, we hope you enjoy

your new "Morley as much as we enjoyed building it for

you.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The

SLST controls electrical signals with (LED) light

sources and electro-optical resistors which do not

wear or make nechanical or electrical noise.

They last

for many, many years with no maintenance.

The

line operated adapter, whichever is more convenient.
SLST uses two nine volt batteries.

power source for the pedal is either battery or AC

useful for traveling musicians who encounter line noises,

of the world.

When the adapter is plugged
the batteries are automatically disconnected.

Power is turned off with a switch or by removing the plug

from the amplifier jack.

the

This double precaution prevents
battery from being inadvertently run down.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIQNS

1-

Connect the musical instrument to the pedal by plugging
one end of a shielded cable to the instrument and the
other to the jack labeled "instrunent" 0n the side of
the pedal

Use another shielded cable between the jack marked
"amplifier" on the side of the pedal and the input
jack of your music amplifier. If the amplifier has
both high and low gain inputs, it may be preferable

to use the low gain input to minimize the possibility
of overdriving the input stage of the amplifier when
using the naximum tone boost capabilities of the SLST
pedal.

Set the controls on your instrument and amplifier

to their usual settings. (After you have become
familiar with the bass and treble boost characteristics
of the SLST you may want to choose new settings for
some or all of your amp controls to best complinent

its unique capabilities).

USING THE SWIVELTONE-VOLUME PEDAL

l

The SLST controls volume with a fore and aft rocking
motion of the foot. Sound is loudest when the toe

is pressed all the way down. and the signal is turned
off conpletely when the heel is fully down.

The SLST is unique because it can also be "swiveled"
to the left and right at the same time as it is being
rocked "fore and aft. When the pedal is centered

in its sideways travel (pointer directly over the LED
pilot light) the tone response is completely flat -
try it. with the pedal pressed fully down at the toe
for maximum volume.

As the pedal is moved to the left (counter-clockwise)
the bass or low tones are gradually boosted and reach
maximum boost at the end of its travel. The control
knob on the left side of the pedal marked BASS deter-
mines the maximum amount of boost which can be
obtained. Preset as desired.

Swiveling the pedal to the right (clockwise) boosts
the treble tones gradually, with the maximum boost
occurring at the extreme of travel. The control knob
marked TREBLE to the right of the pedal detennines
the maximum amount of boost available.

The SLST can be used to make slow tone responses
change or to set a fixed" tone response. It can also
be used to create dramatic effects by operating the
swivel and volume modes in a dynamic or rhythmic
manner. A little experimenting can provide you with
musical expression never before attainable with any
combination of today's most sophisticated electronic
musical instruments or accessories.

SPECIAL NOTE
Excessive tone boost may overdrive some amplifiers with

resulting distortion.

If that should ocuur simply preset

the master tone controls to a level below the distortion
point.

We highly reconuend the use of alkaline type batteries.
Their much longer life makes them more economical than

other types.

In addition, they are unlikely to leak

damaging chemicals.

Use of the adapter eliminates battery expense.
