GENERAL tnifo'muon
um MORLEY can

You are about to nae one of the finest «Hoot
boxes nude. horley products are designed for
yearn of trouble free operation. To insure
mim- aatiafaction please take ties: to read
this booklet which points out Iany features o!
the product, you of which say be new to you.

mm Sm - Battery and AC (nine)

All Harley effect boxes are designed to oper-
ate free one or two 9 volt (NEDA 160) bar-
teries or an optional NC (nine) adapter.* The
hattery can he inaulled by removing the 6
screws which hold the tattoo cover in vhca.
The adapter automatically diaconnecta the bat-
tery when it is plugged into the effect box,
thereby prolonging battery lite.

The adapter is acre atone-ital to use than
bacterial. however thara are times when vain;
the battery is not: convenient. Harley there-
tore provide. both capabilities.

XNDICAIORS SLED! Lag:

The use of mo indicator Imps tells yuu when
power is on. at it either or both aourcea are
not functionin (ouch as a dud battery) or
the adapter is not pinned into a live recap-
tacle.

In addition the two indicator: tell then the
Iusical ellect is turned on or the unit has
been switched to the aerial signal condition.

LOll 100153

All olgcttofl: dewicaa generate tone noise.
Good deaign and uterills make possible hiah
ainlla ralativa to the amount of noise. This
high signal to noise rntio" can make the noise
virtually unnotieeabla. Thia characteristic
and capability is very iaportant in the design
of all Earle] products.

5. HIGH our DEMO!

this ia important because the affect box tan
operate frat very weak or high impedance sources
without leading down the aignal.

6. LOW OUTPUT IMPEDANCE

This is important beeeuse it reduce: high Err
quency losses and hula pickup by the cable which
cones from the output side at the effect box. It
makes it poaaible to use much longer cables over
greater diatancu without siglal deterioration
and raduc-c or eli-iutea loading by the device
to which it connects.

SET UP All! OPEMILN INFOWTIW

Plug a cord Iron a signal source. or musical instru-
ment. etc., into the jerk lurked "Input." This will
automatically turn the power on and one of the indi-
cator lanpa wili light. If a paler- adapzct is used,
the unit will turn on and the lamp will light with-
out the signal cord being plugged in.

Plug another table from the jack lurked "thut" and
connect it to the input of your anplilitr.

Activate the foot twitch. the loop that is lit will
so of! and the other one will cone on. Set it to
tha "affeet of!" leap lights. Now lake some eounda
from the instrument and eat the napliiier for its
normal response. Next aetivate the foot witch one
tile which will turn on the effect.

A compressor is a very apoeial type 0'. ore-aqua"
or low level nplifiet. Ordinary uplifier have a
find noun: of gain or uplliieation whieh retain:
constant for any on'e netting o! the gain control. A
comraaaor has a variable gain which it depandent

upon the strength of the aignal applied to its input.

not been there. the result in auatain without no-
ticeable distortion. compressors can also be used
to prevent or reduce overloading in aaplifiera or
other devices which night otherwise create undesir-
able types of diatortion on high algnal levela.

The controls go to national in the elocltwiae direc-
tion.

1: it suggested the "Output" control he tumd up
carefully and aparinuy since on low level and no
signal conditions, there it a great deal of gain in
the eysten which could tause feedback and noise.

Set the "(impress-Sustain" to as much of the effect
