1. DEAR MORLEYWNER

You are about to use one of the linear effect
bone node. Morley products are designed (or
years oi trouble free operation. To insure lax-
iaun eatieieetiou please take time to read thie
booklet which points out uany features of the
product. some of which any be new to you.

2. PM! SOURCES - Batten and M: slain!)

All Harley effect boxes are deeignad to operate
tron one or two 9 volt (NEDA 160M) batteries or
an optional AC (meina) :9er battery can
be installed by removing the A term which hold
the bottol tower in place. The adapter antenat-
itally dietomerta the battery when it is plus-
ged into the effect box. thereby prolonging
battery life.

no adapter is lore acononical to use than ha:-
ttriee'. however there ere tines when using the
battery it lore convenient. Morley therefore
provides both enpahiiitiea.

Ihe uee of two indicator lamps tells you when
power ie on, or it either or both eonrcee are
not functioning (such as a dead battery) or the
adapter in not plugged into I live receptacle.

In uddition the two indicators tell when the
lusical effoct is turned on or the unit has been
awitehed to the norual eiehel condition.

5. W "015!

All electronic devirat generate gone noise. Good
design and materials nuke possible high signal:
relative to the amount at noise. Thin "high air
ml to noise ratio" can make the noise virtually
unnoticeahle. Thi- charecterietic and capability
it very iuportant in the design of all Hurley
produtta.

This is important because the elfcct ho: can
operate fro: very yeah or hih impedance sources
without leading down the signal.

6. L0" WTPUT MEANS! .

Ihil it important because it reducea high fre-
quency losses and hat oickup hy the table which
noun (roll the output side of the other box.

It nukes it possible to use much longer tables
over greater distance: without signal deteriora-
tion and reduces or eliminate loading by the de-
vice to which it connects.

SET UP AND 092M111: INFWTIOK

Plug a cord from a aignal source, or musical instru-
Itnt. etc., into the Jack Inked "Input." fixir will
lute-Ideally turn the power on and one of the indi-
cator loop: will light. It a power ldlptaz in used.
the unit will turn on and the lamp will light with-
out the ng cord being pluutd in.

Plug another table tron the jack .5er "Output"
and connect it to the input at your upliiier.

Activate the loo: twitch. The leap that is lit will
no off and the other one will coat on. Set it no
the effect off" leap lighte. Nov make some sound:
iron the instrument and set the amplifier for it!
narual response. Next activate the foot Mtch one
tine which will turn on the affect.

The Horley "Deluxe Phaser" (DH) contain: among other
thinn. a circuit which delaye a eienal from a (roc-
tion of a cycle per aeeond to uny cycles per eeeond.
depending on the frequency (pitch) and setting or the
depth control. The delay continually fluctuates tron
zero up to lo thouundtht ot a «toad at a rite

deter-med by the Speed" control which hot n reuse
of one ereureinn every 12 seconds to 12 lines a
second.

The resulting 313ml which passes through this sys-
ten is greatly enhanced meically because of the
addition oi:

1. Pitch change: resulting Iron tho changing delays.

2. Varying out notes.

3. Creation of nanny rich hamnlcs not present in the
input rival.

5. Capabilityof very full rich vibrato.

or travel of the delay circuit. At lower settings a
vibrato will sound shallow or subtle. At auch higher
