MICRO SEIKI
LC SERIES

Moving Coil
Phono Cartridges

The design of the Micro Seiki LC series
phono cartridges is a combination of art
and science. While the list of technical
achievements is impressive. it alone
cannot convey the accuracy of the
reproduced music. Only by listening can
one fully appreciate the engineers work.
The LC series cartridges are products of
Micro Seiki. a Specialist in the design
and manufacture of the world's fittest
turntables. tonearms. and their
accessories. We believe that only a
company specializing in such products
can develop a truly fine cartridge.
However. the LC Series cartridges can
be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates
music reproduced in its purest form.

DESIGN Comprehensive research,
painstaking assembly. and critical listen-
ing have all contributed to this line of
cartridges which provide rare and excep~
tional sound. Both are moving-coil cart-
ridges because we believe that this design
is far superior where sound quality is
paramount and price is of less concern.

The moving-coil design has several in-
herent advantages over other types:

- Since the low moving mass of the
stylus assembly extends the major re
sonance to beyond SOkHz, the high fre-
quency response ofa moving-coil cart-
ridge is much flatter than that ofany
other type.

LCBOW Improved

- Phono cartridges are often subject to
reduced high end and/or total cartridge
output when long cables connect the
tonearm to the turntable or when the
input impedance of the preamplifier is
not properly matched. A cartridge of
moving coil design has a very low output
impedance which makes it relatively in-
sensitive to such problems.

LC SERIES rs not attected by changes in loading
cow-trons,

- In a moving-coil cartridge. the magne-
tic field is fixed. thus preventing genera-
tion of FM distortion. The result is
lower intermodulation distortion.

CONSTRUCTION. These are the
basic advantages ofany moving coil cart-
ridge. Micro Sciki has expanded the
benefits of the design by also including
the following features unique to its LC
Series:

- The cantilever has been constructed of
a special aluminum alloy for high rigidi-
ty and minimum resonance. The LC 80W
Improved has a tapered cantilever for
the highest possible resistance to trans-
mission of resonance.

L040 Improved

- The coil windings in each LC cartridge
are made of ultra-pure copper. specially
coated at time of manufacture to pre-
vent oxidation and degeneration of the
coils. The LC 80W Improved features
dual-coil windings for extra separation
at high frequencies.

- Each LC cartridge features a highly
polished precision ground stylus tip for
low moving mass and high tracking abi-
lity. The LC40W Improved has a 0.3x
0.7 mil elliptical diamond, while the LC-
80W Improved has a new, ELLl-LINE
stylus tip which provides extra track-
ability and lower record wear.

- Output terminals are finished with
hard gold plating to assure maximum
transmission of signal and to prevent
corrosion.

Each LC series cartridge is hand assembled
and one hundred percent tested for
separation. channel balance. frequency
response and tracking ability. Every
cartridge must meet or exceed a strin-
gent set ofperformance criteria before

it is released. Only through such unusual-
ly severe quality control can we be cer-
tain that the LC Series cartridges are the
finest you will ever experience.
