THE AE-SA AMPLIFIER EOUALIZER

Designed tor the most discriminating nnd the most
practical alike, the McIntosh Model AE-ZA Amplifier
Equalizer is the ultimnte in amplifier control design [or
those who appreciate the finest in music reproduction.
All tho controls necessary to reproduce the dumentic or
lorelgn recordings are available. The overall design
provides {lawless reproduction regardless o! the control

COMPARE THESE FEATURES

(most at which are exclusive)

1. The McIntosh unit will deliver 4 volts at less than
0.3! distortion over the audio range, 20 cycles to 20
kllocycles, {or any setting of the equalize r.

2. Circuit arrangement and techniques provide complete
trecdom ircm impulse type»; of distortion. (Turning
the unit on and at! or changing the level suddenly will
not cause amplifier flutter.)

3. Stable teedbaclr amplification permits lull adjustment
oi clmcr the treble or bass controln without any
amplifier instability whatsoever.

4. ans boost approximately 20 ll). bass cut approximate-
ly i2 db. Independent 01 treble control. Treble boost
approximately 20 (ll). treble cut approximately 20 db.
independent oi bass control.

5. Calibrated potentiometer settings to permit resulting
0! controls with the assurance that repeated charact-
eristics will be obtained.

8. 300 and BOOcycle turnovers It 6 db. octave rate avail-
able by the flip of n switch.

7. Separate adjustable level controls ipotentlometcrs)
ior FM-AM tuner and crystal pickups. (Rear of unit)

8. Five input channels:
Max. Input Min. input

1. Crystal pickup 20 volts .01 volts
2. FM 3. Pickering pickup 0.3 .01
4. Pickup Variable 0.8 .0!
5. Low level microphone 0.3 .01

(20. .3 and .Ol volts ncross 600 ohms would be
approximately 28, -B and ~38 dbm respectively.)

9. Master Volume Control.

ii). Attractive hardwood enclosures.

ii. Supplied with connector to obtain power irorn main
amplifier and connect Equailur output to power
ampiiiier.

12. Additional receptacle (or connecting the amplifier so
that the switch on the control unit will turn boththc
amplifier and control unit on and oil.

til. it inches wide. 10 1/2 inches deep. and 3 1/4 inches
high-wood enclosure dimensions.

14. Allows up to 30 feet separation control to amplifier
(or 20 cycle to 20 kilocycle operation.

15. Position 4 has variable resistor calibrated tor any
termination 0 to 100,000 ohms.

TO THE LISTENER: This instrument oi quality provides for the control necessary to give ideal listening cou-
ditlon for normal levels at sound and is designed to accommodate practically all recordings now available.
instructions are included which give positive information on the settings of the various controls to compensate
l'ully tor the recording characteristics and to permit the adjustment of the mellowness or the brilliance to suit
the discriminating individual. This unit used with the McIntosh amplifier will give performance of unbelievable
realism and provides the finest instrumentallty tor music and sound reproduction that electronic engineers

have been able to devise up to this time.
