GENERAL DESCRIPTION TheModel SQA·2B 4-channel decoder is specifically
designed
for plug-in use with those Marantz 4-channel audio
components which feature theappropriate under-chassis recess ("pocket") and multiconnector. The SQA-2B con
tains aCBS-SQ systemdecoding matrix, aphase shifter, and a full logic circuit to enhance channelseparation. When
equipped with SQA-2B a Marantz 4-channel component
offers full 4-channel SQsystem decoding capability.
ASSEMBLING INTO ASSOCIATED MASTER UNIT Turn the master unit's power switch OFF. Refer to the master unit's instruction manual to find theSQA-2B
decoder
recess cover on the underside of themaster unit's chassis. Remove the cover by unscrewing the four cover
screws. Plugthedecoder
into the multiconnector so that the four SQA-2B screwholesline up with the four chassis
screw holes.
(If thescrew holes don't lineup,the SQA-2B is
upside down.)
NOTE:
To remove your master unit from its optional wood cabinet
(or
to install it in the cabinet), temporarily unplug the
SQA-2B, thenslide the
cabinet off (or on), thenreconnect
the SQA-2B
as above.
OPERATION Set your master unit's mode switch to the SQ DE·
CODER or4CH DECODER position. Inthis position, the
SQA-2B isinthe circuit. Ifany other position isselected on
the mode switch, theSQA-2B isout of the circuit.
PRECAUTIONS:The Model SQA-2B is specifically designed for certain
Marantz 4-channel components
only. Marantz isnot respon
sible for any damage resulting from any attempt to connect
theSQA-2B to any audio component for which the
SQA-2B was not specifically designed.

INSTALLATION DU MODULE DANS L'APPAREIL Eteignez I'appareil (Commutateur en position "OFF")
Vovez Ie manuel d'utilisation de I'appareil principal de
maniere asituer Iecouvercle du compartiment du SQA-2B sous Iechassis.Enlevez ce couvercle en devissant les quatre
vis qui Ie maintiennent. Enfichez Ie decodeur dans Ie
connecteur multi-broches demaniere ace que les quatre
trous
des vis du SQA-2B soientalignes avec les quatre trous des vis duchassis. (Si ces trous ne sont pas alignes, Ie ___ .....S'-"OA2fLes.t aI'eover.s).
NOTE:
Pour sortir votre appareil principal deson boitier en bois,
disponible
en option, (ou pour I'V installer), demontez temporairement Ie SQA-2B etfaites ensuite glisser Ie
boitier. Apres cela,rebranchez Ie SQA-2B, comme decrit ci-dessus.
FONCTIONNEMENT Placez Ieselecteur "MODE" devotre appareil principal en position "SO DECODER" ou "4CH DECODER" Dans
cette position, IeSQA-2B estmis en circuit. Dans les autres
positions, IeSQA-2B est hors circuit.
PRECAUTIONS:Le modele SQA-2B est specialement conc;u pour certains
appareils Marantz4-canaux seulement. Marantzn'est pas responsable des dommages qui pourraient resulterdu fait que Ie SQA-2B ait ete branche surunappareil auquel il
n'etait pas destine.
