By using the latest digital image enhancing techniques and incorporating the features only found on the very best sets. And being a Marantz, its standard-setting performance is matched by its stunning good looks. Put it at the heart of your home theater. A visionary experience The LC3050s widescreen liquid crystal display (LCD) produces an extra bright image (450cd/m2) for perfect viewing enjoyment even in sunlight. This type of display works by having a liquid crystal solution between two sheets of polarized glass. An electric current causes the crystal in a particular pixel to align and block light, switching the current off allows light to pass through again. In this way, a dynamic TV picture can be built up in crisp vivid colors that rivals conventional CRT TVs. And of course, LCD TVs are much thinner and more energy efficient than CRTs too. LCD image excellence A conventional TV image is interlaced, where each frame is built up from two interlaced image fields that are view simultaneously. However, when viewing interlaced video on non-interlaced TVs (like LCD) that display the interlaced images sequentially, an artifacts known as tear is visible. Tearing is due to both fields showing the object moving at slightly different times. The Marantz LC3050 has a motion compensated de-interlacer that merges the two fields to faithfully reproduce the original frame without unpleasant motion artifacts. Behind the scenes, advanced digital image processing algorithms optimize picture quality, leaving you free to enjoy the ultimate viewing experience. Digital Color Transient Improvement (DCTI) reduces color smear at the vertical edges of bright colored areas on the TV image whereas Digital Luminance Transient Improvement (DLTI) enhances contour detail in scenes for a sharper, more natural picture. High quality de-interlacing Digital transient improvements Black level expansion creates richer, deeper black tones. It dynamically analyses every image and literally stretches dark areas to a realistic black while leaving light areas untouched. The result is better contrast, without black areas looking gray if you increase the picture brightness. The LC3050 uses a high-performance, 10-bit digital gamma processing circuit to optimize the non-linear imaging characteristics of LCD panels. It is far superior to conventional analogue and lesser bit-rate gamma processing; this circuitry delivers natural colors and smooth image graduation. Black level expansion 10-Bit digital gamma processing Unlike the lower quality comb filters, the 4H Comb Filter in Marantz LCD TV's separates signals for brightness and color with an advanced technology. The processing of RF and composite video signals is done far more accurately for a sharper, cleaner picture. In addition the filter reduces discoloration in fine detailed area in a picture and provides good overall color purity. This clearly separates color boundaries and making images softer and cleaner. Detail noise is reduced significantly. This noise can normally be seen as shimmering or flicker, in complex or intricately detailed scenes. If you want the best you need a digital video connection. Whether you're watching a ball game or an action-packed movie in high definition, without question, the picture quality is stunning. It could be better, though. For high definition all digital video to look its best, the data must be transferred from your digital source to your LC3050. The DVi-D input on the LC3050 is a pure digital high bandwidth video interface and complies with the HDCP protocol. What you see on your screen is exactly what was digitally recorded. You´ll enjoy a razor sharp picture with incredible detail and vibrant, natural colors. 4H digital comb filter Digital video input
