State-of-the-art featuring at affordable price The DV4500 uses a top quality 54MHz/10-bit video digital/ analog converters for very high-quality picture reproduction. The DV4500 in addition provides progressive scanning for PAL material. Compared to a conventional interlaced picture, progressive scanning creates a picture signal with double the scan lines, resulting in a noticeably sharper image. The progressive image offers higher picture resolution and eliminates virtually all motion artifacts. Even on large screens, the progressive scan lines are barely noticeable and picture flickering is greatly reduced, so you can enjoy extended viewing without eye fatigue. The progressive conversion of the DV4500 is optimized for the high resolution and low noise of the DVD-Video format for PAL software. This enables the unit to preserve DVD-Video picture quality for display on all screen sizes from direct-view CRT to projectors. Progressive Scan is provided on the component output. The DV4500 passes on any digital audio signal from a DVD-V disc regardless the format and without any loss of information High quality ""auditorium"" sound in the home, that's what's offered by Dolby Digital! The Dolby Digital or AC-3 audio information, is mixed by the Film studio and is added to the video information as compressed digital information. Cinemas all over the world are supporting the system and the Dolby Digital audio information is added to the DVD-format as standard. The format offers 5 fully independent high quality channels and the sixth channel subwoofer information is provided. Apart from the Dolby Digital information, DVD software can also contain Digital Theater System (DTS) audio information. The compressed digital information offers five fully independent high quality channels together with a sixth subwoofer channel. DV4500 is equipped with MP3 and WMA digital audio compression and JPEG digital video compression decoders. Since this player supports DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW formats, it will play DVD-R/RW discs recorded in DVD recorders and other writers, and CD-R/RW discs containing files in MP3, WMA or JPEG format recorded on a PC. Supported compression formats Elementary differences between the America NTSC signal and the PAL signal, causes problems for many European vision products. Therefore Marantz is offering full compatibility. The synchronization frequency is altered to European standards, making the picture feasible for PAL TV sets. NTSC Playback on PAL TV sets To optimize a Marantz system solution in terms of ease of use, Marantz has designed the D-Bus system. Individual Marantz devices equipped with this special bus system inform each other in order to automatically tune to the customers demands. Also received remote control commands are communicated via this bus, throughout the Marantz system solution chain. This enables equipment without IR-receiver, like a cassettedeck or tuner, to be controlled via the receivers system remote control.
