BASIC SETTINGS SCREEN MENUS BASIC OPERATION ADVANCED OPERATION TROUBLESHOOTING OTHERS CONNECTION 1 ADVANCED SETTINGS ENGLISH ABOUT THIS USER GUIDE This unit is equipped with a network player for playing music, photo and video fi les. You can connect the unit's network connector to a network device and play music, photo or video fi les that are stored on the device. This User Guide describes the settings and procedures that are required to use these functions. NETWORK PLAYER FEATURES The unit has the following functions. -— Playback of music, photo or video fi les that are stored on a device connected to the network -— Supports Windows Media DRM -— Supports DTCP-IP SETTING PROCEDURE FOR USING THE NETWORK PLAYER 1. Connecting the unit to the network (See page 2) 2. Setting up the network (See page 3) If there is no DHCP server on the network to which the unit is connected, the network settings must be performed manually. 3. Authenticating the unit on the server side. (See page 6) It may be necessary to authenticate the unit on each server. 4. Operating the unit; playback. Notes: The unit's network connector supports 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX. Use a 100BASE-TX connection to ensure smooth playback. Use a straight LAN cable that is category 5 or higher. -— Router, Hub These devices are for connecting multiple devices on a single network. If a router has a DHCP server function, the unit's network settings are set automatically. -— Server (in this User Guide, the following devices are referred to as a server) Hard disk with a built-in DLNA server function (LAN connection type) HDD recorder or audio system that supports DLNA A computer can be used when either of the following server software programs is installed. -“ Windows Media Player 11 -“ Server software that supports DLNA -— Internet Required when using the unit's network connection to perform a system update. CONNECTING THE UNIT AND SERVER TO THE NETWORK As shown below, connect the unit and a server such as a computer or hard disk to the LAN connector of a router or modem.
