Marantz Model 23
AM/ FM Stereophonic Tuner

The Model 23 represents a significant advance in Marantz' engineering effort to manu-
facture a high-quality AM/FM stereo tuner at a moderate price. The quality and per»
formance ofthe Model 23 are truly outstanding, yet the price puts the Model 23 within
reach ofthe budget-conscious audiophile. Sophisticated features are not compromised
-mu|tipath indication, hi blend, and superb quieting characteristics are all carried over
from more expensive Marantz designs. The Marantz Model 23 is the perfect quality
tuner for the budget-minded stereophile.

Features:

Signal Strength and Center
Channel] Multipath Meters: These
two meters enable the user to tune
in FM broadcasts with absolute
precision. This tuning system is
superior to any other, except for
the oscilloscope tuning offered in
the Marantz Model 20. In

addition to standard center-channel
and signal strength meters (found
in some competitive tuners), the
Marantz center-channel meter can
also be switched to indicate the
degree of multipath. The multipath
distortion may then be minimized
by reorienting the antenna.

Gyro-Touch Tuning (Patented) :
This exclusive Marantz feature is
the most sophisticated tuning
mechanism ever designed. Station-
to-station tuning is smooth and
effortless, because the user is
actually rotating the mechanisms
flywheel. This greatly reduces the
number of moving parts of the
tuning mechanism, reduces friction
and wear, and results in smoother
operation .

Inter-Station Muting. The inter-
station muting circuit quiets the
noise between stations while tuning
across the FM dial. A rear-panel
threshold adjustment is provided
as well as a front-panel defeat
switch, allowing the owner to vary
the amount of muting, or switch
the muting circuit out completely.

Advanced FET and IC Circuitry:
Two FETs and four 10: are used
to provide superior and dependable
performance with optimum
component stability and longevity.
The incorporation of integrated
circuits also simplifies the
manufacturing process. This keeps
costs down while ensuring the
highest possible quality.
Hi-Blend: Hi-blend quiet:
background noise in marginal FM
stereo broadcasts without affecting
mid- and low-frequency stereo
separation or frequency response.
Other Features: The Model 23 is
also equipped with a blackout dial
panel, silent automatic mono/
stereo switching, stereo indicator
light. antenna attenuator and a
front-panel volume control.
