Please Check Promptly for Transit Damage.Each Klipsch product is individually tested for sonic quality and inspected for superior appearance before it leaves the Hope, Arkansas factory. Your loudspeaker left the factory in perfect condition in packaging carefully engineered to protect both the working parts and finish. However, in certain extreme circumstances, the products may be damaged in transit. To ensure that your loudspeaker is in its original condition, please inspect it immediately. If any dam- age is discovered, notify the transportation company responsible for safe delivery. Make a request for inspection and hold the product in its original shipping carton for the inspector. After a joint inspec- tion report is made, file a claim with the transportation company. Klipsch Synergy Quintet Home Theater Speaker System The Klipsch Synergy Quintet home theater speaker system brings our legendary live sonic signature, dynamics and clarity to a very compact multiple speaker package that is extraordinarily easy to incorporate into your living space. The Quintet utilizes high quality, magnetically shielded, high out- put drivers in a two-way configuration. These drivers are housed in a state-of-the-art Stone Mineral Compound molded enclosure that permits the construction of an outstanding industrial design in a very dense, non-resonant enclosure. Our smallest Tractrix horn is mated to a 3 /4" soft dome tweeter driven by a compact yet powerful neodymium magnet structure that is inherently video shielded. The polymer woofer cone is driven by a large, fully shielded ceramic magnet for high output and wide dynamic range. The complete Synergy Quintet system consists of a total of six speakers. Two of the Quintet satellite speakers are used for the front left and right channels and two are used for the rear surround chan- nels. The Quintet center speaker, a horizontally oriented dual woofer version of the Quintet satellite, is designed to be placed on top of your television for reproduction of the center channel signal. To complete the system, a powered subwoofer, packaged and sold separately, will be required to repro- duce the deep bass frequencies. PLACEMENT OF THE QUINTET MAIN SPEAKERS Both speakers should be placed on the same wall of the room flanking your television, six to 15 feet apart, with the tweeters as close to ear level as possible. Wider spacing will create a larger sonic image so some correlation with the size of the video screen may dictate the final placement of the speakers. Attach one of the supplied stick-on rubber feet to the bottom rear (heel)of each of the Quintet satellite brackets to prevent vibration or marring of your shelf or wall. For a higher quality stereo image, angle, or toe in, the speaker toward the listener. Room acoustics vary, so experiment with specific placement within the room. PLACEMENT OF THE QUINTET CENTER CHANNEL SPEAKER Place the Quintet center channel on top of or just below the center of the television screen. This anchors center channel sounds to the video image for off-center viewers. Four stick-on rubber feet are included to attach to the bottom of the center speaker to prevent vibration and scratching of the television cabinet.

PLACEMENT OF THE QUINTET SURROUND SPEAKERS Place the rear channel Quintet speakers on the side walls adjacent to or behind the viewing area. An alternate location that will also give good results is on the rear wall behind the viewing area, spaced at least six feet apart. Proximity to adjacent side walls will increase the amount of reflected sound. A mounting height of approximately five to seven feet from the floor is recommended. By adjusting the downward tilt and toe in, you can vary the balance between direct and ambient sounds in the rear channels. Refer to Bracket Adjustment. How to Connect the Quintet System Switch your electronics OFF when making all connections!Be sure to observe proper polarity (+ to + and - to -) and avoid having excess bare wire at the connectors, which could short together causing possible amplifier damage. Refer to About Speaker Wire Connections. Connect the front Quintet speakers to the Frontor Main,left and right channels of your systems power amplifier. Connect your Quintet centerspeaker to the center channel output terminals of your systems power amplifier. To use a center channel speaker, your receiver or signal processor must have a designated center channel output. Connect your Quintet surround speakers to the Rearor Surroundchannel output terminals of your systems power amplifier. When connecting surround channel speakers to a 5.1 channel system (Dolby Digital® or DTS® ) it is important that they are hooked up to the appropriate right and left surround channels as these systems have stereo surround effects. ABOUT SPEAKER WIRE CONNECTIONS When making any type of speaker wire connection, be sure to observe proper polarity. Most speaker wire is color-coded or has some distinguishing feature differentiating the two conductors. Speaker wire connectors on most loudspeakers and amplifiers are also color-coded. Typically,Redis positive (+) and Blackis negative (-), or ground. It does not matter which conductor of the speaker wire is connected to the positive or negative terminals of your equipment as long as you are consistent. Be sure that the connections from the amp to the speaker on all of the various channels of your system are connected in a like manner. If this is not done, the bass will be reduced and the stereo image will be compromised. Be careful not to have excess bare wire or loose strands of wire that could short from positive to negative as this could damage the speaker and amplifier. Surround System Configuration SURROUND SYSTEM VOLUME ADJUSTMENTS To obtain proper level adjustment of all of the channels in a surround sound system, use the built-in test tone in your surround electronics (refer to the owners manual for your electronics for more detail). BASS MANAGEMENT If your surround component has a bass management system, configure the front speakers to the large or full range setting, the center speaker to the normal or limited range setting (do not use the phantom set- ting), and the surround speakers to the small or limited range setting. The deep bass energy present in all of the channels will then be handled by the powered subwoofer connected to the main left and right channels. Some bass management systems will send bass information to an optional subwoofer output (LFE). In this case, set the front speakers to the small or limited range setting. All Quintet speakers have an internal high pass (bass) filter which attenuates deep bass frequencies to increase their dynamic range capabilities. Since the bass management systems in surround components vary in their capabilities, please consult the owners manual of your electronics or your dealer for more details.!
