The HTB-300 System box should contain:

Black audio cord (10 foot)

Lengths of speaker wire: 1 blue (15-foot), 1 red (15-foot), 1 green (10-foot),
1 gray (20-foot), 1 orange (20«foot)

Lengths of speaker wire: 2 blue (15-foot), 2 red (15-foot), 1 green (10-foot),
1 gray (20foot), 1 orange (20-foot)

if you need to use speaker wires that are longer than the ones provided, you will need to pur-
chase them. For the best performance, we recommend using 16-gauge (or thicker) speaker
wire.

Unpacking

Unpack the boxes carefully, and examine the speakers and receiver for shipping damage. If they
are damaged or fail to operate, notify your Kenwood dealer immediately. If the system was
shipped to you directly, notify the shipping company without delay. Only the person or company
who originally received the system can file a claim against the carrier for shipping damage.

Keep the original cartons and packing materials in case you need to transport or ship your sys-
tem in the future.

The HTB-200 Home Theater System will make watching
inowes at home more tun than ever. To connect your
speakers to the receiver follow the instmctions on this
sheet To learn how to operate your recerver please read
and lollow the instruction booklet included in the receiv
ers box It you're also connecting other equipment. such
as a VCR. CD player or other source component. use the
receiver's manual in combination with the manuals that
came with those components.

Placing Your Speakers

Place the speakers as shown in the diagram. While youre
setting the speakers up. keep these paints in mind

- It the stint-router causes discoloration of the TV picture,

move it away lrom the TV until the discoloration disappears

' Since the center speaker is magnetically shielded, you
can place it right on top oi the TV wrthout worrying
about picture discoloration.

- You canhang the surround speakers on the wall usrng
heavy-duty picture-hangers

- Placing the suhivooler next to a wall yields more ccep bass
output than placing it away from a wall, Placing the so!)
woofer in a corner yields the deepest hass output overall

Connecting Your Speakers

Important; Do not plug the receiver's power cord into no out-
let: until you have property connected all at the speakers.

Connect the speakers as shown in the main diagram.

in each case, connect the colored sneaker wire to the red
terminals on the speaker and receiver. and connect the
black speaker wire to the black terminals on the speaker
and receiver

To make connecting the speakers easier. we have color-
coded the speaker wire and the terminals on the speakers.
and we have preeslripped the insulation trom the ends 01
the Wire.

Note that the receivers Ielt anc right lroril speaker outputs
connect to the inputs oi the subwooler and the Iett and right
speakers themselves connect to the supwooter's outputs
