Over four decades of innovation and a passion for engineering excellence has established KEF as one of the most respected names in high-end audio. The ideal that inspired KEFs founder Raymond Cooke in 1961 was to re\ produce recordings so accurately that they sounded indistinguishable from live performance, which is why \ so many professionals (including the BBC) adopted his groundbreaking designs. This spirit of continual i\ nnovation in pursuit of perfection is what has driven KEF engineers ever since. KEF speakers are like no ot\ hers, and few manufacturers have pioneered as many breakthroughs in loudspeaker design - from radica\ l new cabinet designs, cone materials and driver configurations to the use of aerospace technol\ ogies and advanced sonic modelling techniques. So the new C Series is the product of a multi award-winning heritage of \ daring design, brilliantly executed. Today, it finds expression in revolutionary concepts like the KEF Muon (\ www.kef.com/products/muon), where ultra-sophisticated driver arrays are shrouded in giant Ross Loveg\ rove-designed towers of superformed aluminium. The same talented engineers created the speakers \ you see in these pages, with just as much attention to detail and engineering integrity. Aluminium dome tweeter with t an ge rine wavegui de The same 19mm (0.75in.) tweeter from the latest Q Series reproduces vocals with spellbinding realism -“ the unique tangerine waveguide disperses its sweet natural clarity evenly throughout the room and provides excellent protection from straying fingers. Ultra-rigid enclosures The sound you hear is untainted by any internal resonance from the sturdily constructed cabinet, thanks to careful internal bracing and a dense dual-layered baffle system. Magneti c shielding Freedom of positioning is virtually unrestricted because every C Series speaker is fully magnetically shielded to eliminate any risk of interference with other electronic devices in the room. Gold-plat ed termin als The exceptional acoustic definition you experience depends on the recorded signal being perfectly transmitted, so the twinned binding posts of the C Series are gold-plated. Dual signal transmissi on To optimise acoustic resolution, there are dual sets of binding posts to accommodate bi-wiring, or, for the cleanest possible response right across the frequency range, bi-amplification. Forward-firing slot port Bass response is further extended by a frontal slot port carefully contoured to maximise low frequency dispersion and minimise any unwanted turbulence that might otherwise colour the well-defined output of the bass drivers. Invisibl e keyhole wall mountin g syst em With no ugly brackets to spoil the clean lines, it couldnt be easier to secure your C Series satellites (upright or horizontally) to any suitable vertical surface using the ingeniously neat keyhole mounting point built into the back of each cabinet. Incredible performers -“ whatever your taste-¦ Th e bbeeaut y oof the C Seri es is its excepti oon al ver satilit y. The range is engineered for a perfect tonal match between every model, s\ o you can combine them however you please. Using the ingenious and highly flexible C6LCR (left\ /centre/right) for all five main speakers, for example, gives you a home theatre system of truly epic cap\ abilities. Not only does it deliver precise and engaging vocals but it is also adept at producing a rich and\ extensive performance enviable of any satellite speaker. Ease of use and flexibility have been engineered into all C Series model\ s from front firing ports for closer positioning to walls, to the discreet wall mounting brackets fitted to e\ ach of the bookshelf speakers. Even the floorstanders are supplied with dedicated plinths to provide gr\ eater stability. Acoustically the C Series provides the sort of clarity, definition and s\ patial precision normally associated with speakers of a much higher price. Power handling is uniformly excell\ ent, so theyre easy to drive with virtually any amplifier and whether used for music, movies or games, the\ sheer quality of the sound they produce is equally captivating. Choose between classic Black Ash or fine-grained European Walnut finishe\ s - whatever your taste, were confident that the C Series will hugely exceed your expectation\ s of audio enjoyment. The C1 pairs the superbly accurate 19mm (0.75in.) tweeter and tangerine waveguide from the latest Q Series with a slot-ported 100mm (4in.) midrange/bass cone. Both sit on a dense two-layer front baffle system to deliver a complex, profoundly realistic and spatially accurate soundscape. With excellent power handling and a carefully tuned crossover, the C1 delivers a generously full performance that belies its discreet appearance and modest size. Coom pa ct, versatile and pootent C SERIES Clear, confident and natural sounding, the C3 boasts KEFs 130mm (5.25in.) bass driver for impressively extended low frequency response to complement the seductive realism of the sophisticated 19mm (0.75in.) tweeter and tangerine waveguide. The resulting soundscape is warm, rich in detail and compellingly three-dimensional, whether youre enjoying a favourite track or watching a movie. MMu sic an d mo vvie su rr ooun d soound
