USAGE

Amplifier connections
0 Connect the speaker system to an amplifier after turning
off the power source of the amplifier.
Input terminals are provided on the rear side of speakers.
Connect these terminals to the output terminals of
amplifier using the provided speaker cords as shown in
Fig. 1. The Red input terminal is (+). and the Black is (-l.
Use the speaker cord having white lines when connecting
(-) terminals of the amplifier and speakers, as opposed to
using the cord without white lines when connecting (+1
terminals.
For stereo playback, connect the left speaker to "L" (left)
terminals of amplifier, and the right speaker to "R" (right)
terminals, confirming the polarity (+, -). if left and right
channels are conversely connected, playback sound
position relationship will be unnatural, and if the cords are
accidentally connected to opposite polarity terminals
between speakers and amplifier, sound characteristics such
as localization, directivity and expansion are extremely
deteriorated. Be sure to confirm the channel and polarity
when connecting.
When using speaker cords other than those provided, select
a cord having thick conductive strands. lf unnecessarily
long cords, or cords with extremely thin conductive strands
are used, sound quality such as damping etc. will deterio-
rate. Be sure to use a cord having thick conductive strands.
Be careful not to apply overload input to speakers. The
bigger the amplifier output is, the more advantageous for
distortion factors. But the speakers may be damaged if
the sound volume is increased to an extreme. Amplifiers
are generally designed to produce about 70 % of the
maximum output with the volume control set in its
medium position. The maximum allowable input is
150 watts (peak) for the Zero-3, 200 watts (peak) for the
Zero-5 and 300 watts (peakl for the Zero-9, respectively.
When the following spurious inputs are applied to the
speakers, the heat from an overload current may cause wire
damages even if they are below the allowable maximum
input. Be sure to lower the amplifier sound volume.
1. Excessive noise produced when detuning of FM tuner.
2. Signals having high level, high frequency components
produced in Fast Forward mode of tape deck.
3. Noise produced when switching the power source of
amplifier, tuner, etc.
. Noise produced when unplugging connecting terminals.
. Noise produced when changing cartridge.
. Continuously high frequency sounds made by oscillator,
electronic musical instruments, etc.
7. Howl produced when using public-address system.
