Janszen . . . for unmatched musical clarity

Delicate, transparently clear music you can enjoy
without listening fatigue . . . proven durability
you can depend upon for years . . . theyre both
inherent in every JansZen electrostatic speaker.
For only in the JansZen are modern materials so
skillfully combined in patented designs to fulfill
the promise of virtually distortionless music re-
production to beyond 30,000 cycles per second.
This remarkable lack of audible or measurable
distortion plus superb transient response means
that all instruments, even those having similar
harmonic characteristics, are reproduced with
positive individuality . . . and without shrillness
or peakiness of any kind.

The secret to this amazing musical clarity is in
the patented JansZen electrostatic principle-ac-
claimed by engineers and music critics alike. Each
electrostatic radiator contains 176 push-pull
sheathed conductors. Mounted in opposing arrays,
these conductors provide uniform forces to move
the sensitive, conductive diaphragm with the same
amplitude and in the same phase over its entire
area. The diaphragm behaves as if it had neither
stiffness nor mass-in short, as if it were not there
at all. This enables the JansZen to precisely re-
create the acoustic pressures recorded by the
microphone without unnatural coloration.

specifications:

A push-pull electrostatic transducer comprising four
radiators, power supply, and high-pass filter in cabinet.

Frequency rusponsu: 500 c/s to beyond 30,000 c/s.

Type of crossover network: LRC highpass filter.

Power cord input: 117 volts, 5060 c/s, AC. 2 watts drain.

Maximum Input: 8 ohm model: 20 volts RM8 (50 watts).

16 ohm model: 28 volts RMS (50 watts).

"in: lraqueney dispersion: Model 130: 120 degrees.

Model 1300: 90 degrees.

Distortion: Less than 0.5% total harmonic distortion at 50-watts input
below 10,000 c/s.

Woolar Requirements: A high quality direct radiator woofer of the low
efficiency type mounted in a totally enclosed cabinet should be used,
providing it has a smooth frequency response to 10002500 c/s
with low harmonic distortion (such as the Janslen Models 250 and
350 Dynamic Woofers).

Guarantor: Complete loudspeaker guaranteed for one (1) year. Electro-
static radiators guaranteed lor two (2) full years,

For those who insist on the most trueto-life sound attainable only
this original JansZen model will suffice. Because of its extremely
low harmonic and intermodulation distortion (which is actually
lower than many amplifiers), the JansZen 130 lets you listen for
hours without tiring. This mid/high range speaker contains four
electrostatic elements individually tested for distortion and
matched within 1 db for output. Dispersion is complete at room-
filling lZO-degrees.

speaker is specifically designed to match the efl'lciency of most high
quality direct radiator woofers . . . adding those important octaves
of undistorted harmonics that give realism to recorded sound. Its
only rival is the Model 130.
