Troubleshooting ENGLISH This unit is designed for tr ouble-free operation. Most pr oblems users encounter ar e due to operating errors. So, if you have a pr oblem, first check this list for a possible solution. If the pr oblem persists, consult your authorized Har man/Kardon Service Center . IF THE PROBLEM IS... MAKE SURE THAT... No lights illuminate when POWER cor d is plugged into AC outlet ¥ The unit is plugged into a live outlet No sound is hear d ¥ Speaker switches corresponding to the desir ed speakers are pressed ¥ Cor rect sour ce button has been pr essed ¥ V olume is tur ned up ¥ Speaker wir es are connected pr operly ¥ Hook-up wires to source component ar e connected properly Sound is not hear d from the speaker system on one side ¥ The speaker wires and connection wir es are connected cor rectly ¥ The balance contr ol knob is set to the center When listening to ster eo sound, the left and right sounds ar e reversed ¥ The speaker wires are connected cor rectly ¥ The wir es between components ar e connected correctly Inter mittent or continuous buzzing or hissing ¥ The unit is away from fluorescent lights, TV , motors and other electrical appliances The remote contr ol and front panel contr ols don't appear to work ¥ Disconnect the AC line cord from the wall socket, wait 5 minutes and then r e-connect it Phone sound is too faint, has hum, ringing, or ÈhowlÇ ¥ Ground wir e from tur nable has been connected to gr ound terminal on amplifier ¥ Cable fr om turntable is away fr om power cords and speaker cables ¥ T urntable is away fr om speakers ¥ Turntable is on stable sur face
