Die Information der CD - Platte lot digital aul einer Scheioe von 12
cm Durchmesser gespeichert. Die Spieldauer betragt. je nach
Abtastgeschwindigkeit. 83 oder 74 Minuten. Die Digitalsignale sind
in einer von innen nach aulien verlaulenden Spirals gepreBt Die Var-
tielungen haben eine Lenge von 0,833 - 3.56 pm und eine Trefe von
0.12pm. Die Vertielung ist als logisch NULL definiert. Nach dam
Preteen dar 1.2 mm dunner! Platte wird diese im Vakuum mit
Aluminiumdamptversplegelt.

Die Schichtdicke disses Spiogels betragt ionrn (zum Vargleich: die
Wellenlenge dos roten Llohtes batragt 700 nm). Aul den Spiegel
wird ein Scliutzlack von 10-50pm und der Auidruok mittels
Siebdruck aulgabracht. Der Spiegel ist von der lnlormationssaite
her durch die 1.2mm starke Schicht gut goschittzt Die Rtlcksaite
jedoch is: sahr empfindlich gegen Beschadigungen. Ein Kretzer Von
der Ttela einer Haarslarke kann den Spiegel zerstliren. An dieser
Stella kann das Laserlicht nicht mehr rollektiert warden. Fokus- und
Spurtehler sind do Folge.

Die Bitrate von 4 321 800 Bit/s ist konstant. Dadurch argibt sich
eine variable D zahl Von ca. 550 min int lnneren der Plane und
von ca. 200 min auBen.

lm GD- System sind 2 Gesol'iwindigkeiten moglich. Daraus ergehen

Als Besonderheit beim CD- System sind neben der AUDIO-
INFORMATION Steuer- und Anzeigeinlormationen (Control-l Dis
playinlonnation - 0&0- Bits) in iedem Datenblock vothanden. Ein
Datenbiock enthait 588 Bit und wird auch ais FRAME
bezeichnet.

Die OLD- Blta, auch Suboodo genannt. bestahen aus 98 Worten
a BBit. Die 8 Bit pro FRAME warden mit den Buchstaben P....W
(Kanale) bezeichnet

Ein FRAME ist 136ps tang, der Suboode besteht aus 98 Women; die
sich daraus ergebende Wtederhollrequanz ergibt sich zu:

The Dice

The inlormation on the CD Disc is digits; and is stored on a disc with
a diameter of 12 cm. The playing time corresponds. according to
the scanning speed. to 63 or 74 minutes. The digital signal is
impressed into a spiral which runs from the inner to the outer edge.
The depressions have a legnth oi 0.833 - 3.56 pm and a depth of
0.12pm. The depressions are defined as logic NULL. Alter pressing
the 1.2 mm thin plate. an aluminium spray in a vacuum produces a
mirror like finish.

The layer thickness of the minor is 10 nm (for comparison: the wave
length ol red light is 700 nm). A protection layer of 10 - 50 pm is
applied on the mirror and the print made with a silk screen print
process. The mirror is well protected on the information side by a
1.2 mm layer whereas the rear side is very sensitive to damage. A
scratch with a depth corresponding to the diameter of human hair
can damage the minor. in this case the laser light will no longer be
reflected. Focus and tracking errors will result

The hit rate of 4 321 800 bit/s is constant. Theriore the rotational
speed is variable lrom approx. 550 ntin1 from the inner to approx
200 min1 at the outer edge of the disc.

A feature at the CD system is that apart from the audio information.
control and indication information (control/display information =
cao- Bits) is present in each data block. A data block contains
588 Bitsand is also known as a FRAME.

The C&D Bits, also known as a Suboode, consists of 98 words
each of 8 Bite. The 8 Bits per FRAME are allocated characters
P...W (channels) as:

One FRAME is 136 long, the Subcotb comprises 98 words; and
from this the repeat frequency is calculates:

1/136psx98=75Hz

From this the data stream of 75 x 93 x8 = 53800 Bits s" can be
calculated. -
