G-QéO/G-QéO

The Grace' G-940/G-960 are a uni-pivot oil-damped type tone arm.

The uni»pivot support system with all unchanging and reproducing conditions at any position
of the arm.

This is incorporated with a high purity silicon oil damping system. which eliminates any
sway or movement incompatible to true sound reproduction. and results in a strong howling-
free characteristic type arm.

Special wiring and harness arrangement is used to allowiree and smooth action.

The balancing of the arm is done by turning the counterweight in steps of 0.1 gram with
one complete turn of the counterweight equal to 3 grams. The cartridges varying in total
weight from 3 grams up to 17 grams can be perfectly adjusted. and when heavier cartridges
are used. an optional add-on ring weight is available.

A new robust light weight headshell specially designed is used on this 6-900 series.
and is designated HS-S. The lock system and gold contacts for noise free connection.

For reproduction of CD-4 stereo records. a newly developed low capacity shielded cord
(PC-4) is Supplied with the arm. The use of this new cord will enhance reproduction of
other types of records as well.

Integral oil-damped hydraulic cueing control is also provided for gentle lowering and

raising of the arm.

TONE ARM

UNI-PIVOT OlL-DAMPED

I MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

Drill a 20 to 25mm¢ (5/16'-l') hole for the tone arm.
Position it in a way that the counterweight will not touch
the dust cover of the turntable. Then, drill a 6mm¢ (+')
hole for the arm rest about 140mm (5-H) away.

IINSTALLATION OF fiRM BASE AND ARM REST

Refer to diagram 1. Insert arm base in the hole. Leave a
slight gap between the base and the arm height adjuster.
Tighten the lock nut by hand. Any adjustments in the height
can be made by loosening the adjuster screw and freely
moving the am up or down. Install the arm rest according
to diagram 2.

I CORD FASTENER

Diagram 3. Install the cord fastener underneath the mount-
ing hoard. Re sure to leave about 100mm. (4') of play in

the cord in order to facilitate the removal of the arm.

IINSTALLATION OF THE CARTRIDGE

Install the cartridge in such a way that the tip of the
headshell to the stylus point is about 2mm. (1/8.). See
diagram 5

Clean

I CUEING DEVICE

Attach the cueing device on the shaft of the base, making
sure that the stopper pin is located to the right of the
cucing device. Attach the five prong audio cable to the
arm base and insert the arm in the platform. Attached the
headshell with the cartridge and put the cueing device into
the up position. Adjust the height of the stylus to a dis-
tance of about 10 to 15mm. (+5) above the record surface.
I COUNTERWEIGHT

Insert the counterweight on the back of the arm by pressing
in the spring-loaded ball bearing on the arm shaft.
