We Had to Break
Some Rules To Make

a Better Tonearm

Grace has once again opened up new
exciting possibilities in tonearm design.
The metal frame tonearm, 0.704, is made from
specially selected materials under conditions of strict
quality control. The frame is machined from one piece
of metal alloy with no bends or joints.

The (3-714 wood frame tonearm is made from the highest grade
of selected teak. The most advanced techniques have been em-
ployed in the design and manufacture of every detail. Features include
the tapered design. uni-pivot support. oil damping, and a new type of tone-
armfheadshell connector.

it The 6-704 features the employment of an advanced rolling technique that
eliminates metal fatigue in the special lightweight alloy.

it- Changes in the structure of the metal frame of the 6-704 are prevented by using mil-
ling rather than pressing to achieve the desired shape.

* The lack of bends or connections in the 6-704 contributes to its very clear reproduction
capability.

* The danger of warping and other problems have been eliminated through careful selection of
materials and advanced drying techniques used in the manufacture of the (3-714 wood frame tonearm.
4" The 6-714 is protected by an oil finish.

-)t- The tapered shape of the tonearm has been designed to prevent physical or mechanical resonances while
guarding against warping.

* The uni-pivot oil damping system has received wide critical acclaim from audio experts.

* These tonearms are of the universal type. Any type of cartridge may be used by merely changing the headshell.
ii- The hum heard when most headshells are removed has been eliminated by means of a specially developed self shorting
connector.

* Socket contacts are gold plated for optimum contact while headshell contacts are plated with rhodium which has three times the
durability of gold.

* The headshell (HP-l/HP-IB) and socket are designed to effect a self cleaning action.

* Special hard damping material is used at all points to achieve an optimum damping factor.

it By the use of a unique lead line design. the adverse effects of tonearm rotation are prevented.

* Tracking force adjustment is of the direct reading type. One full turn equals a 3 gram change and 0.1 gram increments allow precise
adjustment.
