G6.1sr
In order to deliver the vast dynamic range of a
live musical performance or a movie soundtrack,
the G6.1sr uses two 6.5-inch mid-bass couplers.
Designed of extremely light and stiff aluminum,
the cones are capable of handling huge power
and transients, and yet maintain the extremely
low coloration that is the hallmark of Genesis.
The front face of the G6.1sr holds a tweeter
and a midrange, which are both active when the
speaker is in monopole mode. In addition, are
two mid-bass couplers on the angled side faces.
In dipole mode, two additional tweeters on the
side faces are activated, while the tweeter and
midrange on the front face are turned off. The G6.1sr is universally installer-friendly.
Its unique shape and flexible mounting bracket
systems allow it to be mounted on a side wall or
rear wall, or put into a corner. It features an
electronic trigger that allows it to be remotely
switched from monopole to dipole mode.
It also includes a high-level speaker
throughput for easy connection to the
Genesis ServoSubª 2/12t surround subwoofer.
Partnering the G6.1sr with the S2/12t
results in a surround channel system that
delivers a full, seamless frequency response
from 16Hz to 36kHz.

MULTI-CHANNEL
SYSTEMS
Although Genesis has a 30-year legacy of
innovations, new technologies and leading-
edge thinking have been applied to design the
absolute fidelityª surround speaker system.

Reviewers in the audiophile press have often
remarked that the Genesis tweeter is the worldÕs
best. This one-inch circular planar ribbon is
crafted from an extremely thin membrane of
Kapton with a photo-etched aluminum Òvoice
coilÓ that is a mere 0.0005 inches thick. Since
the entire radiating structure has less mass than
the air in front of it, the tweeter will accurately
reproduce frequencies beyond 35kHz.
We have designed a proprietary 5-inch
midrange to cover this critical frequency band.
Manufactured from pure titanium, one of the
lightest and stiffest materials known, our
low-mass cone driver is capable of nearly instan-
taneous transient response, enabling the G6.1sr
to sound effortlessly lifelike.
REVOLUTIONARY
CROSSOVER
DESIGNS
Each crossover is designed by computer
modeling plus years of knowledge and experi-
ence. More importantly, the crossovers are
designed with many, many hours of music
listening, and constant refining, tuning and
tweaking of the circuit. Genesis uses its own
custom-made capacitors and inductors. Some of
our finest capacitors use the best polypropylene
film and tin-foil technology available today.
The G6.1sr is essentially three separate
loudspeakers in the same cabinet. In monopole
mode, a 3-way crossover is used with the front
tweeter and midrange, and two mid-bass
couplers on the side faces. This is designed
with an identical ÒvoiceÓ to the G6.1c center
channel, and the G6.1 loudspeaker system
from the mid-bass up.
When in dipole mode, the G6.1sr uses two
totally separate crossovers. The front face is
turned off, and the two tweeters on the side faces
are turned on. One of the side faces is a 2-way
speaker with a tweeter and a mid-bass coupler.
On the other side face, a unique phase-shifting
crossover is engaged to power the woofers in-
phase at the lower bass frequencies, but shifted
180 degrees out of phase from around 200Hz up.
Keeping the lower frequencies in phase allows
the G6.1sr to maintain its bass performance in
dipole mode, while at the same time sounding
diffused and ephemeral for movie surround
channel applications.
