FITTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE GARRARD MULTI-PURPOSE
PLUG-IN PICKUP CASE TYPE MPMZ

The Garrard Type MPMZ Multi-Purpose pickup case has been designed
for use on Garrard Models R.C.90, R.C.80M and R.C.111 three speed auto-
matic record changers, also the Model T three speed single record player.

This pickup case will, with the aid of the accessories supplied with it,
enable a wide range of pickup cartridges to be fitted.

A thin bakelite section known as a knockout, which can be easily broken
away. is provided in the front of the case through which can pass the knob
of turnover type cartridges and a hole is located in the top of the case,
covered by the Garrard name plate, for the knob of the turn round stylus

type of cartridge.

As this pickup case can easily be plugged in and out of the pickup
arm. single stylus cartridges can be fitted having a separate case for each

type of cartridge.

The accessories comprise:-

Most pickup cartridges will quite easily assemble into the case using
the accessories provided.

The two spacers should be assembled under the harness of the cartridge
should the stylus not project far enough below the edge of the case. such
as with the Pickering turnover cartridge.

The two washers should be used under the screw heads as the holes
in the harness of some pickups are larger than the screw heads, centralise
the cartridge before tightening the screws.

For cartridges such as 6.8. having the turn round type of stylus.
the Garrard name plate should be removed from the case by pushing it
out from inside and replacing it with the sub-plate. Be careful not to lose
the two 6BA nuts immediately underneath the plate.
