USERS NOTICE for ERA 666

Your ERA turntable has been precision manufactured. It will rotate with no wow nor flutter due to its
belt drive and double synchronous motor.

lts arm-turntable suspension is a free floating one which makes for rumble free performance. The
patented pivot assembly of the arm (spring assembly) allows you to get maximum performance from
your pick-up. So please set it carefully.

INSTALLING YOUR TURNTABLE

1. - Unscrew screw (11) underneath your turntable. This screw fastens the suspension to the chassis.
When transporting the unit, make sure to fasten the screw again.
Set the turntable on an even and stable surface. The turntable needs no ventilation of any kind:
it can be installed in a closet if needed.

2. - The turntable is wired for 220 volts. To use it for 110 volts turn the connector (9) around so
that it will read 110 in front of the red dot.

Should you loose the voltage connector, the turntable will automatically be wired for 220 volts.

3. - Mount the cartridge on the cartridge holder (see notice).
4. - Set the cartridge holder inside the head of the pick-up and tighten it with screw (2).
5. - Connect the turntable to the mains with cord(10) and to the amplifier with cord (14). The red

phono plug is for the right channel and the grey one for the left channel.

The ground wire is terminated with an open lug. It must be set under any screw of the chassis
of the amplifier. If you should use your turntable in mono, use only the grey phono plug and the
ground wire.

6. - Put the outer platter and the rubber mat on top of your unit.

7. - Set the tracking pressure of your unit in the following way:
a) Put knob (1) on 0 position.
b) Balance the arm horizontally by sliding counterweight (3).
c) By using knob (1) set the desired tracking pressure. The readings are in grams or fraction of
a gram.
8. - a) Insert rod (4) on top of the arm.
b) Set the anti-skating support on the left of the arm pivot.

- Attach the nylon thread on the rod. Each graduation is equivalent to 0,5 g. i.e. if you want
to set the tracking pressure for 1,5 g. put the thread on the 3rd graduation from the front
end of the rod.

- When the anti-skating device is set properly, the arm and the support should be parallel
when cartridge is on the initial groove of a 12 inch record.

- Set the distance between the anti-skating support and the arm pivot so that when the
cartridge is on the last groove of the record there is about 1 inch between the small
bronze counterweight and the top of the anti-skating support.
