Preface
The XNAV3500P combines state-of-the-art turn-by-turn navigation with a built-in multimedia
player. Before operating, take a few minutes to review the safety and operating instructions in
this Quick Start Guide so you can quickly and safely become familiar with its many features.
This Quick Start Guide explains the system functions, and provides details on:
- Safety information
- Control locations
- Setting up the unit
- Basic navigation functions
- Multimedia functions
- System preferences
For detailed navigation functions and operation, please refer to the full-length owners manual
included in .pdf format on the DVD-ROM.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
This unit includes an internal Li-ion battery, and should be fully charged prior to first operation.
This unit is shipped in full power off mode. To activate the unit for first time use:
- Insert SD memory card
- Press the RESET button located on the left side of the unit
To return the unit to full power off mode, press and hold the RESET button for 3 seconds. The
clock settings and GPS signal information is erased when the unit is in full power off mode.
To turn the unit on/off normally, press the power button momentarily.
When turned on for the first time (or if the unit has been idle for several days, or been moved
more than 250 miles while off), it can take several minutes to acquire a GPS signal. GPS signal
acquisition times will be typically less than a minute when the unit is turned on again.
