The best loudspeaker isnt the one that gives the
most, its the one that loses the least.

When our founder John Bowers said
this in 1966, he set in motion over

40 years of groundbreaking research,
development and technological
innovation with one simple goal in mind:
to create the perfect loudspeaker.

In leading recording studios around
the world, music that will soon be heard
everywhere is heard first through Bowers
& Wilkins speakers. At George Lucas'
Skywalker Sound studios in Marin
County, California, music is put to hit
movies on the ultimate surround sound
system, featuring Bowers & Wilkins
800 Series monitors. And at Abbey
Road Studios, the world's most famous
recording facility, all three main studios
employ Bowers & Wilkins speakers to
capture the output of artists as diverse
as Coldplay, U2, Michael Nyman and the
London Symphony Orchestra. When the
worlds most demanding users tell us what
they think of our sound, we listen closely.

Weve done it lrorn day one. When John Elowers
set up the company in i956, experimentation

in sound and recording was escalating rapidly.

it was the time of Sergeant Pepper. Pet

Sounds and Like A Rolling Stone. Bowers had

a pioneering spirit to match. His ambition was
revolutionary for the day. and remains so: to
create a loudspeaker that neither adds nor
lakes away lrom the music. in effect, the perlect
loudspeaker. We've been exploring the world oi
sound ever since. We'll never settle for less than
periection, so we'll never stop improving our
speakers. Once you have a passion lor sound,
you never lose it,

Custom Installation 600 Series

With the Custom Installation 600 Series, you
can forget about cabinets and cables: every
model in the range is designed to be concealed
neatly inside a wall or ceiling. Thanks to clever
new features like our QuickDog' fixing mechanism
and plug-and-play connectivity, installation
couldnt be easier - and thanks to our super-thin
bezels the speakers are barely noticeable But
with high performance technologies like Kevlar
drive units and Nautilus tweeters, they produce
a sound thats impossible to ignore

5o: nothing, hear everything
For the Custom installation 500 Serles,

we've come up with some special aesthetic
enhancements that help the speakers blend
perfectly into the background. For example,
all the speakers incorporate bezels no larger
than 5mm. Once sprayed in the colour ot
your choice they're barely noticeable. We've
used blue Kevlar for our drivers instead

of yellow and introduced anodised black
aluminium tweeters, so that nothing behlnd
the grille stands out. And theres now a choice
of round or square grilles, so you can pick the
shape that tits best with its surroundings.

Nautilus Swirl

The Nautilus tube is one of our most famous
inventions A a horn that works in reverse by
absorbing unwanted sound radiation away
from the back ot a driver. A tube is all very well
for speakers with the space to accommodate

it - but what about a small ceiling-mounted
speakefl For the tweeters in the Custom
installation 500 Series ceillng speakers. we've
achieved the same effect by flattening the tube
and twisting it into a spiral. So while the speakers
are shallow enough to squefle into the most
confined spaces, the sound emanating from the
front is just as focused, and just as natural.

Dream weaving
Woven labric cones are at the heart of our
Custom installation Series speakers. Whether
the material is glass fibre or Kevlar. the blend
of fibre, resins and cone geometry produces
an incredibly well-controlled cone that reduces
standing waves. minimizes coloration and
leaves transient 'attack' unblurred. As a result
the sound produced is remarkably clean. clear
and dynamic.

Great sound tram any angle
ln most custom installation set-ups. listeners

will rarely stand directly underneath a speaker -
which is why almost all of the tweeters in our
ineceiling speakers can be positioned in a variety
ot angles. To improve the directionality and locus
ot the sound even further, we've introduced a
swtch on the front of the battle that allows you
to optimize the midrange frequencies too. its a
near-parted sound experience. whichever way
you look at it.

ccmasz, ccmesa, ccmasa and comes
Discreet, versatile and fantastically easy to
install, these two-way, six-inch in-ceiling
speakers will bring great sound to places other
speakers can't reach. But while they're small
enough to fit almost anywhere. they also pack a
powerful punch: the CCM562 and the comes.
for example, feature tnie audiophlleestandard
technology in the form of Nautilus SwirHoaded
aluminium dome tweeters and blue Kevlar bass/
midrange cones.

ccmasssn and ccmsusn
These are the dual-channel in-ceiling speakers
in the Custom installation 600 Series range. A
clever design bringing together two voice coils
and two tweeters means you can experience
psuedo stereo sound from iust one speaker.
They're ideal for bringing stereo sound to
rooms where space is limited, or as a discreet
option for the surround sound channel in a
home theatre set»up tyou can change between
these two modes at the flick of a switch).

The ccmeeasa features a blue Kevlar bass/
midrange cone.

ccmasz, ccmaas and comm
The largest of the Custom installation

500 Series' in-ceiiing range, these twoeway
speakers bring you an amazingly rich. tulle
bodied sound. courtesy of their sizable eight
inch bass/midrange cones. The ccmsaz is
capable of handling an impressive 150W of
power, and both the CCMSBQ and the CCMGBG
feature Nautilus Swiriloaded aluminium dome
tweeters and blue Kevlar bass/midrange cones.

cwmstia, cwmsstl and cwwlasz
We've brought some of our most refined
technology to these neat in-wail speakers, so
you can enjoy serious hieli sound quality trom

a system that's close to invisible. All three
speakers in the range have tweeters featuring
our famous Nautilus tube-loaded design - a

true audiophilegrade piece of technology that
helps to minimise sound colouration. We haven't
stinted on technology even for the smallest
speaker in the range: the CWM652 is equipped
with a blue Kevlar bass/midrange driver.
