1 2 Installation English Installing the MonitorCaution: If your vehicle has passenger side air bags, make sure the monitor is no\ t mounted in an area where the air bag will be deployed. 1Assemble the mounting bracket and temporarily mount the monitor. Note: Always use the TV mounting bracket supplied. 2 Carefully choose the installation location. Select a location that is as flat as possible. Temporarily mount the uni\ t there using double-stick tape. Notes: Mounting hints Top of the monitor should not exceed the top of the dash-board whenviewed from the drivers seat. The mounting surface should be strong and stable. Position the monitor and viewing angle so it can be easily seen. Do not install this unit in a location that will obstruct the operation \ of any safety device (such as air bags or passive restraint systems). If the surface of the dash board is finished with other than plastic suc\ h as leather, wood, or cloth, damage may occur when the mounting bracket is removed. 3 Peel the protective paper from the double stick tape on the mounting bra\ cket. Secure the bracket at the installation location. Clean the installation location with the cleaner supplied. Notes: Warm the installation location with a dryer before putting the mounting bracket into place. Do not apply force or moisture for 24 hours after installation. If the bracket is not attached securely, mount the bracket with the scre\ ws provided. -˜…: If the mounting surface is curved, reform the base of the mounting bracket to match its shape. 4 Connect the monitor. Insert the connector into the back of the monitor until a click is heard\ . 5 Mount the monitor on the mounting bracket. Align the threaded hole on the bottom of the monitor to the mounting thu\ mb- screw. Secure the monitor by rotating the thumbscrew. Use the cord clamper to dress the cord to prevent possible entanglements\ . 6 Adjust the height and angle of the monitor for the best viewing angle. Determine the height and angle. Tighten the height adjusting screw and t\ he angle adjusting screw securely to fix the monitor. Monitor Dashboard Monitor Mounting Screw Mounting Bracket 3 Remove the monitor from the mounting bracket. Operations Screen Display ON/OFF 1Set the Main POWER switch to the STAND-BY position. The main power lamp will illuminate. 2 When you have finished using the monitor, set the Main POWER switch to t\ he OFF position. The main power lamp will turn off. Notes: When you turn off the car's ignition switch, make sure the monitor's pow\ er is also turned off. If the monitor is left in the STAND-BY position, it\ will slowly drain the car's battery. On Screen Display The operation contents will be displayed for 3 seconds. Adjusting the Volume 1 Rotate the VOLUME control UP to increase the volume and DOWN to de- crease. Changing the Brightness of the Back Light (Dimmer Function) 1 Setting the DIMMER switch. HIGH : Maintains bright backlighting. AUTO : Adjusts the brightness automatically, depending upon the vehicle's driving lights. Headlights off = brighter Headlights on = darker Notes: Contents displayed on the screen may remain on the screen temporarily; t\ his is a residual image effect peculiar to the LCD and not due to failure. The screen may lose contrast when used in cold temperature conditions. In Case of Difficulty Symptom No function or display. Unclear picture display. No picture display. Poor picture brightness. Spots or dotted lines/ stripes appear. Cause Car's ignition is off.Incorrect connections. Vehicle's battery is weak. Monitors power is Off. Fluorescent tube is exhausted. Brightness control is set for minimum brightness control. Navigation system's mode set incorrectly. Protective circuit is on because of high temperature. Incorrect or open connection withthe Monitor. Brightness control is not set to the proper positions. Caused by neon signs, high- voltage power lines, CB transmit- ter, other vehicle's spark plugs, etc. Solution Turn the ignition on.Check connection and remedy. Check the voltage of vehicle's battery.Turn the monitor's power on. Replace the fluorescent tube. -˜… Adjust the monitor's brightness in the navigation system's set-upmode. Switch to the correct mode using the navigation system's set-up remote control. Wait until the temperature inside the vehicle comes down to the operating temperature range (45Β°C). Check the connection and rem- edy. Check the dimmer switch on the side of the monitor or adjust the brightness in the navigation system's set-up mode. Change the location of your vehicle.
